A leading aspirant for the Egbeda/Ona-Ara Federal Constituency seat in the House of Representatives in the forthcoming 2027 general election, Hon. Akinyemi Akinpelu, has extended warm congratulations to former First Lady of Oyo State, Chief Mrs. Florence Fatima Ajimobi, following her appointment as Nigeria’s Ambassador to Austria.

In a congratulatory statement released to journalists on Sunday, Akinpelu described the appointment as a remarkable honour that reflects Mrs. Ajimobi’s longstanding commitment to leadership, service, and the advancement of society.

He noted that the former First Lady has consistently demonstrated grace, strength, and compassion in public life, earning admiration from political stakeholders and citizens across party lines.

According to him, the new diplomatic role is a recognition of Mrs. Ajimobi’s dedication to nation-building and her unwavering contributions to humanitarian and social development initiatives over the years.


 

 

Akinpelu further emphasized that Chief Mrs. Florence Fatima Ajimobi distinguished herself as a passionate advocate for women, families, and the less privileged, leaving behind a legacy of impactful initiatives that resonated with many residents of Oyo State.

“Her appointment to represent Nigeria in Austria is not only a personal achievement but also a proud moment for the people of Oyo State and members of the All Progressives Congress who have witnessed her commitment to service and leadership,” Akinpelu said.

The APC stalwart also commended her resilience and continued relevance in national affairs, noting that her experience, wisdom, and diplomatic disposition would significantly enhance Nigeria’s representation on the international stage.

He expressed optimism that Mrs. Ajimobi would utilize the opportunity to strengthen diplomatic and economic relations between Nigeria and Austria while projecting the nation’s image positively abroad.

Hon. Akinpelu concluded by wishing the former First Lady success in her new assignment and prayed that her tenure would bring honour and pride to Nigeria.
