The ongoing GRA Ringroad Ibadan has been named by the Oyo state government after the late Ekefa Olubadan, Senior Chief Lateef Oyelade, in recognition of his immense contributions to the development of Ibadanland.

This was made known by the promoter of Afia Construction and building engineering, Engr Abduljelyl Adekunle Karheem while addressing journalists on Thursday.

Karheem, who is popularly known as Mogaji Adanla, noted that the government of Oyo state are in partnership with Afia construction and building engineering for the complete construction of the ongoing GRA Ringroad into a modern taste.

He noted that the construction work began three months ago and expected to be completed by December 2024, stressing that the project is a Public-Private Partnership (PPP) scheme between Oyo state government and Afia construction and building engineering, the owner of Afia homes and properties.

According to him, Afia Construction and Building Engineering will develop the Infrastructural Facilities using private funds and also manage the GRA, on behalf of future residents and Oyo State government.

He said the new Oyelade GRA located off Ringroad, can be accessed via mobile 7up road and from Adeoyo state hospital, adding that the GRA is a residential development that is designed as part of a masterplan community to activate a satellite city.

Adanla added that among other amenities, the GRA is situated in a secure area with enough security, a 22-hour power supply, solar-powered street lights, and an industrial borehole.

He equally said that Afia Construction and Engineering has put in place Developmental Control Responsibilities as part of its PPP Agreement with the Oyo State Government and that this is in line with Governor Seyi Makinde’s vision that all future GRAs in Oyo State must have 100% infrastructure before residency commences.

He assured that the GRA will not lack any infrastructure, let alone schools, pharmacies, police post, and other facilities.
