Hon. Mojeed Agbaje, popularly known as Hemjay and the State House of Assembly hopeful for Irepo/Olorunsogo Constituency, has joined well-meaning Nigerians in celebrating Oyo State on the occasion of its 50th anniversary, describing the golden jubilee as a moment of collective pride, deep reflection, and renewed commitment to sustainable development.

In a statement marking the historic milestone, Hon. Agbaje noted that the 50-year journey of Oyo State reflects the resilience, industry, and progressive spirit of its people, which have consistently defined the state as a beacon of excellence and leadership in Nigeria.

According to him, the Oyo @ 50 celebration is not merely ceremonial, but a reminder of the sacrifices, struggles, and visionary efforts of past and present leaders who have contributed to the steady growth and stability of the Pacesetter State.

“Oyo State at 50 is a celebration of courage, continuity, and capacity. It is a story of a people who have refused to surrender their aspirations for good governance, development, and social progress,” he stated.

Hon. Agbaje particularly applauded the administration of His Excellency, Governor Seyi Makinde, describing his leadership as purposeful, people-oriented, and transformative.

He noted that the Governor’s policies and reforms across infrastructure, security, education, healthcare, and economic empowerment have repositioned Oyo State as a model of subnational governance in Nigeria.

The Irepo/Olorunsogo Assembly hopeful also paid glowing tribute to the Deputy Governor of Oyo State, Barrister Adebayo Lawal, whom he described as a dependable partner to Governor Makinde and a man with a genuine developmental heart for the people of the state.

“Barrister Adebayo Lawal has distinguished himself as a loyal, hardworking, and visionary Deputy Governor. His quiet strength, administrative competence, and passion for grassroots development continue to add immense value to the success of this administration,” Agbaje noted.

He added that the synergy between Governor Makinde and his Deputy has strengthened governance delivery and ensured that development reaches all zones of the state, including rural and agrarian communities.

Hon. Agbaje further acknowledged the invaluable contributions of former governors, political leaders, traditional rulers, civil servants, professionals, farmers, youths, women, and the Oyo State diaspora for their collective roles in shaping the state over the last five decades.

Expressing optimism about the future, he stated that Oyo State is well-positioned for greater achievements in the coming years, especially with sustained leadership, unity of purpose, and increased citizen participation in governance.

“As we celebrate 50 years of Oyo State, we must also look ahead with hope and responsibility.

The future belongs to a state that prioritizes good governance, inclusiveness, youth development, and economic prosperity,” he added.

Hon. Mojeed Agbaje concluded by congratulating the government and people of Oyo State on the golden jubilee and prayed for continued peace, unity, and accelerated development across all local governments and constituencies.

“Happy 50th Anniversary to our dear Oyo State.

The journey so far inspires confidence, and the future holds even greater promise,” he said.
