The Lagelu Local Government in Oyo State is on the verge of a significant milestone as it prepares to commission its newly constructed legislative building on January 28, 2026.
This development, hailed as a flagship legacy project under the leadership of Chairman Mudashiru Kamorudeen, underscores the administration’s dedication to modernising local governance and fulfilling electoral promises.
The ceremony, which will be the first major infrastructure inauguration of the year, is slated to be officiated by Hon. Bimbo Adekanmbi, a former Commissioner for Finance in Oyo State.
Adekanmbi’s participation is expected to highlight the project’s alignment with prudent financial management and broader state development goals.
The event will take place at the council secretariat in iyana Offa, commencing at 10:00 a.m., and is anticipated to draw a crowd of local dignitaries, community leaders, and residents eager to witness the achievement.
Hon. Kamorudeen, recognised as the youngest-ever chairman of Lagelu LGA, has been at the forefront of transformative initiatives since assuming office.
His administration’s “Together We Can” philosophy has driven a series of community-focused projects, with the legislative building standing out as a symbol of progress.
Described as the first-of-its-kind legislative house in the history of the local government, the building promises to revolutionise council operations by providing a dedicated space for deliberations, administrative tasks, and public engagements.
In a recent statement shared on social media, Hon. Kamorudeen expressed enthusiasm about the project, noting it as a “promise made and promise kept.”
He invited residents to attend the commissioning, emphasising the building’s role in enhancing governance efficiency.
The structure boasts modern amenities, including energy systems, conferencing tools, and facilities designed for accessibility. These features position Lagelu LG as a pacesetter in legislative infrastructure within the South-West region.
