The Executive Chairman of Ibadan North Local Government, Hon. Oluwaseun Olufade, has approved the termination of the appointment of Mr. Idris Ajibola as Special Assistant to the Chairman, with immediate effect.
The decision was formally conveyed in an official letter issued from the Ibadan North Local Government Secretariat, Agodi Gate, Ibadan, and dated January 19, 2026.
According to the letter, Mr. Idris Ajibola’s appointment was terminated with immediate effect, thereby bringing his duties and responsibilities within the Ibadan North Local Government administration to an end.
The termination notice further directed Mr. Idris Ajibola to immediately desist from parading himself as a Special Assistant to the Chairman of Ibadan North Local Government, clearly stating that he no longer holds any official position or authority under the council.

Following the development, Hon. Oluwaseun Olufade has approved the appointment of Mr. Saheed Muritala as the new Special Assistant to the Chairman, ensuring continuity in governance and effective service delivery.
Notably, Mr. Saheed Muritala hails from the same ward as the disengaged Special Assistant, a move that reflects the Chairman’s commitment to political balance, inclusiveness, and fair representation, while firmly reinforcing administrative discipline within the council.
The letter, personally signed by Hon. Oluwaseun Oluwatobi Olufade, once again underscores the Chairman’s exclusive executive prerogative to appoint and disengage political aides in accordance with established administrative procedures.
Signed,
Aderibigbe Yisahu Ajibola
