There was palpable joy and a collective sigh of relief at Oranyan Market on Tuesday, December 30, 2025, as residents, traders, and passersby witnessed the commissioning of the newly reconstructed Oranyan Market pedestrian bridge by Ibadan Northeast/Southeast Federal House of Representatives hopeful, Mogaji Oluwole Akinwale.
The atmosphere was charged with excitement as market men and women, alongside residents of the area, trooped out in large numbers to celebrate the completion of the bridge, which has long served as a critical access route for traders and residents but had fallen into a deplorable state over the years.
The intervention by Mogaji Oluwole Akinwale has brought lasting relief, as the bridge has now been solidly reconstructed to enhance safe and seamless movement within the bustling market environment.
The project has been widely described as timely, people-oriented, and impactful.
Speaking at the commissioning ceremony, Mogaji Oluwole Akinwale, who hails from Ward 3, Ile Mato, Ibadan North East Local Government, expressed profound gratitude to God for making the project a reality.
He noted that living a life of purpose is rooted in service to humanity.
According to him, the greatest joy for him is bringing relief to the people and putting smiles on their faces.
He recalled that he had earlier promised to reconstruct the bridge and, true to his word, ensured its completion and commissioning.
“As a politician, I believe in walking my talk. I made a promise, and I am fulfilled today that the promise has been kept,” he said.
Mogaji Oluwole Akinwale urged residents and traders to take collective responsibility for maintaining the bridge, while also encouraging them to continue to pray for peace and tranquility in the area.
He further assured the people of his unwavering commitment to responding to their needs whenever it is within his capacity.
APC party stalwarts present at the event commended Mogaji Oluwole Akinwale for the laudable initiative, describing him as an impactful and compassionate politician who derives genuine joy from touching lives.
