The Vice Chairman of Egbeda Local Government and Political Head/Administrator of Ajorosun Local Council Development Authority, Hon. Ibrahim Oladebo, popularly known as Simple, on Wednesday, December 31, 2025, put smiles on the faces of widows, youths, and elderly residents through a humanitarian outreach held to mark the end of the year.

The programme, which took place at the Council Secretariat, Olodo, also featured the presentation of Awards of Excellence to selected council staff and political associates in recognition of their dedication, loyalty, and support over the years.

Speaking at the event, Hon. Oladebo explained that the initiative was part of his long-standing philanthropic tradition aimed at ensuring that residents especially the less privilege celebrate the New Year in a joyful and dignified manner.
According to him, the outreach, which he described as an annual programme, was designed to give back to society and support widows, widowers, youths, community members, and party faithful through the distribution of cash gifts and other tokens.

“Today is December 31, 2025, and as we are about to move into 2026, we decided to organize this programme to give back to society. We want the widows, youths, and other community members to also enjoy the festive period in their homes,” he said.

Hon. Oladebo used the opportunity to call on political office holders and well-meaning individuals to extend helping hands to the needy in their communities, stressing the importance of compassion and collective responsibility.

“I want to encourage other political office holders and individuals who are more privileged to show mercy and kindness to people around them, so that everyone can share in the joy of the season,” he added.
While assuring residents of continued dividends of democracy, the council administrator reaffirmed the commitment of the Hon. Sikiru Sanda-led Egbeda Local Government administration to initiate and execute more developmental projects in the New Year.

Congratulating the award recipients, the former Leader of the Egbeda Local Government Legislative Arm charged council staff to remain diligent and committed to their duties, noting that the awards were meant to motivate excellence and improved service delivery.
In his remarks, the PDP Chairman in Egbeda Local Government, Chief Ebenezer Alawe, commended Hon. Oladebo for his generosity and people-centered leadership, offering prayers for divine reward and continued success.

The highlight of the event, which attracted political leaders and key stakeholders, was the presentation of awards and the distribution of cash gifts to widows, youths, and elderly beneficiaries.
Some of the awardees and beneficiaries, who spoke separately, expressed gratitude to Hon. Oladebo for the recognition and support, offering prayers for the fulfillment of his future political aspirations.
