




Member of the Oyo State House of Assembly representing Ibadan North Constituency 2, Hon. Adebayo Babajide Gabriel (a.k.a Jagaban), has lauded the leadership of His Excellency, Engr. ‘Seyi Makinde, describing his role in the 2025 Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) National Convention as both historic and deeply unifying.
In a statement released and made available to newsmen on Monday, Jagaban of the 9th and 10th Assembly noted that Governor Makinde’s steady, inclusive leadership helped guide the party through a critical transitional moment, reinforcing internal cohesion and strengthening nationwide confidence in the PDP’s future direction.
According to him, the atmosphere at the convention reflected a renewed spirit of togetherness among party stakeholders, a development he attributed to Makinde’s commitment to transparent processes, equitable representation, and collective decision-making.
Hon. Babajide also extended his warm felicitations to the newly elected National Chairman, H.E. Turaki, and the Deputy National Chairman (South), Ambassador Taofeek Oladejo Arapaja, applauded their emergence as a testament to the party’s democratic strength and broad-based support across regions.




He congratulated other elected officials as well, urging them to prioritize unity, discipline, and progressive governance.
He emphasized that their victories carry the hopes of millions of party members and Nigerians who are looking to the PDP for stability, economic renewal, and credible leadership ahead of the next electoral cycle.
“The convention marks a new chapter,” Gabriel said. With Governor Makinde’s guidance and the infusion of capable leaders like Turaki and Ambassador Arapaja, the PDP is better positioned to reclaim its place as Nigeria’s foremost political platform.”
Hon. Babajide encouraged party members nationwide to rally behind the new leadership, work collaboratively at all levels, and continue demonstrating the democratic values that distinguish the PDP within Nigeria’s political landscape.
