As preparations peak for the 2025 National Convention of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), renowned philanthropist and Oyo 2027 governorship hopeful, Oloye Adegboyega Taofeek Adegoke, FCA, the Aare Egbe Omo Balogun of Ibadanland, Mogaji of Abose Compound in Gege, and Chairman of Aweni Communication and Holdings, has extended a warm and distinguished welcome to delegates, leaders, and stakeholders arriving in Ibadan, the Oyo State capital.
Describing Ibadan as a city of courage, culture, and political enlightenment, Adegoke noted that the ancient metropolis remains the pride of the South West and the cradle of many historic “firsts” in Nigeria.
He emphasized that the city’s rich history, intellectual vibrancy, and unmatched hospitality make it a fitting host for a convention centred on renewal, unity, and the strengthening of democratic ideals.
Adegoke highlighted the significance of this year’s convention, stating that at a time when Nigeria seeks stability, direction, and transformational leadership, the PDP continues to demonstrate readiness to lead with clarity, maturity, and responsibility.

He added that the choice of Ibadan as the host city reflects confidence in Oyo State’s peaceful atmosphere, political sophistication, and unwavering commitment to purposeful governance under the leadership of Governor Seyi Makinde, FNSE.
He commended the National Working Committee and various organs of the party for their foresight in bringing the landmark event to the Pacesetter State, expressing confidence that Ibadan would provide not only a conducive venue but also an environment where ideas can flourish, strategies can be strengthened, and party unity can be deepened.
Adegoke urged delegates to approach the convention with unity of purpose, sincerity, and renewed dedication to the core values of the PDP, equity, justice, inclusion, and service to humanity.
He expressed optimism that the engagements at the convention would shape the future of the party ahead of 2027, while rekindling hope for millions of Nigerians who look to the PDP for credible leadership and people-centred governance.
As delegates continued to arrive, Adegoke wished all participants a productive, safe, and memorable stay in Ibadan, praying for journey mercies and a successful convention that would open a new chapter in the history of the party.
