The much-anticipated Davido 5ive Concert has come and gone, but its echoes continue to reverberate across Ibadan and beyond as one of the most successful entertainment events ever hosted in Oyo State.

The historic concert, powered by the Oyo State Government through the Oyo State Agency for Youth Development, marked a new chapter in the state’s cultural and creative economy —thanks to the visionary leadership of Governor Seyi Makinde and the dynamic coordination of Prince Falana Adebayo Adebowale, Chairman of the Agency.
The event, held at the Liberty Stadium, drew thousands of fans from within and outside Oyo State, turning Ibadan into a melting pot of music, culture, and youth energy.

The concert not only showcased Afrobeats superstar Davido in his full element but also highlighted Oyo State’s growing capacity to host world-class entertainment events.
Governor Seyi Makinde’s approval and full backing for the 5ive Concert reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to youth development through creative engagement and youth.
The initiative, which blends entertainment, empowerment, and economic impact, aligns with the governor’s broader vision of positioning Oyo as a thriving hub for innovation and investment.

Special commendation goes to Prince Falana Adebayo Adebowale, whose coordination as Chairman of the Oyo State Agency for Youth Development ensured seamless organization and execution. Falana’s leadership, backed by the Don Tee-led committee, demonstrated efficiency, innovation, and professionalism in managing logistics, security, and crowd control for an event of such magnitude.
‘Prince Falana deserves all the credit for bringing structure and excellence to youth-oriented events in Oyo,” said an entertainment consultant.
The Don Tee-led committee also did exceptionally well in managing artist coordination, stage setup, and audience experience.
Security and emergency services also earned plaudits for maintaining order and safety throughout the night.
The joint efforts of the Oyo State Security Network (Amotekun Corps), the Nigeria Police Force, the FRSC, and other agencies ensured that the concert remained peaceful and well-organized.
It was impressive to see how secure and well-managed the environment was,” noted a security analyst. “This level of coordination shows that Oyo can safely host major international events.
Fans and attendees could hardly contain their excitement as they spoke about the concert experience:
I’ve been to concerts in Lagos, but this was something special,” said Rukayat Adedayo, a fan from Abeokuta. “Ibadan has finally proven that it can host events that rival any city in Nigeria.
Governor Makinde has done something huge for the entertainment industry,” added a youth entrepreneur. “Beyond the fun, this concert created opportunities for vendors, creatives, and service providers. The impact is real.”

“I came from Osogbo just to see Davido perform live,” said Bamidele Johnson, an attendee. “The coordination, sound, and security were top-notch. I’m proud of Oyo State.”
The Davido 5ive Concert not only united thousands of youths but also showcased Ibadan’s potential as a cultural and entertainment capital in the Southwest.
With the support of Governor Makinde and the strategic guidance of Prince Falana, Oyo State has indeed changed the dynamics of entertainment, setting the pace for future events that will continue to attract investors, tourists, and global attention.
As the music fades and the lights dim, one thing remains clear — Ibadan is ready, Oyo State is rising, and the Makinde administration has struck the perfect harmony between governance and entertainment.
