In a proactive move to strengthen youth empowerment initiatives in Oyo State, the Oyo State Agency for Youth Development, under the leadership of Hon. Adebowale Adebayo Falana, has carried out an official inspection of Whoopy Yun College, also known as the creative college, owned by Mrs. Omobolanle AFolashade Adedeji, signaling the start of exploratory talks for a strategic partnership focused on technical and vocational skills development.

The inspection visit, led by the Chairman, Hon. Adebowale Falana, the coordinating director, Mr. Sangogade Olusumbo Idowu, the Director of Administration and General Service, Mr. Osungbaro Oluwaseye, as well as the department head, Youth Mobilization and Voluntary Organization, Mr. Oladoja Olayiwola Muyiwa, was aimed at assessing the facilities, training programmes, and infrastructure of the institution to determine its suitability as a potential partner in the state’s youth development agenda.

Speaking during the tour, Hon. Adebowale Falana noted that the state government, under the leadership of a youth-centric administration of His Excellency, Engr ‘Seyi Makinde, remains committed to equipping its growing youth population with relevant, market-driven skills that will enhance their employability and foster entrepreneurial spirit.

“We are here to ensure that any vocational institution we partner with has the capacity, quality, and vision to deliver tangible results to further seal a win-win deal with the official launching of Oyo State Sub-national African Continental Free Trade Area (Afcfta) implementation strategy.

Whereas, Whoopy Yun College has shown promise in these areas,” Falana said.

The Whoopy Yun College CEO, Mrs. Omobolanle AFolashade Adedeji, welcomed the delegation and provided a comprehensive briefing on the college’s curriculum, training facilities, and impact on youth development over the years.

The team also showcased the institution’s hands-on learning approach, workshops, and existing collaborations with local industries.

“We believe in the transformative power of skills education. Our goal aligns with the state’s vision to empower young people with the tools to build meaningful futures,”

The Oyo State Agency for Youth Development team, led by the Chairman, was exposed to various sections of skills development, including a fashion show, a designing lecture, a Photography session, a sales room, and an industrial sewing machine for trainees and professionals.

However, the visit marks the beginning of discussions that could lead to a formal Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between the agency and the college.

If agreed upon, the partnership is expected to cover areas such as vocational training, digital skills development, entrepreneurship programmes, and internship placements for young people across the Pacesetter state.

Equally, further engagements are expected in the coming weeks to finalize the framework and implementation strategy for the proposed partnership.
