Board member of Oyo State Pacesetter Transport Services (PTS) and CEO of Hemjay Automobiles, Hon. Mojeed Agbaje (popularly known as Hemjay), has appealed to residents of Irepo, Oorelope, Olorunsogo, and the entire Oke Ogun axis to remain calm over the ongoing agitation surrounding the Igboho/Igbope/Kishi road project.
Agbaje, in a statement made available to newsmen, noted that while the road was not captured in the recent N113 billion infrastructure approval by the Oyo State Government, the project has already recorded significant progress in its journey toward final approval and execution.
According to him, government projects such as road construction must pass through several stages, including needs assessment, project design, advertisement for bidders, evaluation, executive council approval, and eventual mobilization.
He disclosed that the Igboho/Igbope/Kishi road has already reached one of the most critical stages — public advertisement for qualified contractors to express interest.
“This is a major milestone,” Agbaje said. “It shows that the government has listened to the cries of our people, and the process is already in motion.
Our voices have been heard, and Oke Ogun will not be left behind in the development agenda of this administration.”
He further commended the Acting Governor of Oyo State, Barrister Abdulraheem Adebayo Lawal, for giving due attention to the project and assured the people that the present administration remains committed to the infrastructural development of Oke Ogun.
While urging patience and faith in the process, Agbaje appealed to residents to continue supporting the government’s vision, stressing that Oke Ogun’s growth remains a priority in the larger framework of the state.
His message reads:
A Call for Calm on the Igboho/Igbope/Kishi Road Project
I understand the concerns of our people in Irepo/Oorelope/Olorunsogo and indeed the entire Oke Ogun over the exclusion of the Igboho/Igbope/Kishi road from the recent N113 billion infrastructure approval by the Oyo State Government.
The road is of great importance to our region and naturally expectations are high.
It is important to note, however that road contracts in Oyo State just like in other parts of the country must pass through several stages before final approval and commencement of work, These stages include:
- Needs Assessment and Project Design: Technical studies and scope definition.
- Advertisement for Bidders: Publication of the project to allow qualified contractors show interest.
- Evaluation and Selection: Rigorous assessment of bidders to ensure capacity and competence.
- Approval by the Executive Council: Final financial and technical clearance.
- Award and Mobilization: Release of funds and commencement of physical work.
The good news is that the Igboho/Igbope/Kishi road project has already advanced in this process as it has been duly published and advertised for bidders to express interest.
This is a significant milestone and one of the most critical phases toward eventual approval and execution.
I therefore urge our people to remain calm and patient.
His Excellency, the Acting Governor, Barrister Abdulraheem Adebayo Lawal is giving attention to this project and is committed to ensuring it is delivered.
Our collective voice has been heard, and the government is working steadily to address this long standing need.
Let us continue to support the present administration with faith and patience as Oke Ogun’s development remains a key priority in the larger vision of this government.
Signed
Hon Mojeed Agbaje[Hemjay]
