A former Federal House of Representatives aspirant for Ibadan North and one-time Councilor of Ward 12 in Ibadan North Local Government, Hon. Matthew Alani Oyeniyi, has extended heartfelt birthday greetings to Chief Benedict Akika, the Agbaakin Olorunda Aaba and Mayegun of Akobo, describing him as a rare gem.
In a goodwill message made available to the press on Wednesday, Hon. Oyeniyi expressed deep appreciation for Chief Akika’s consistent loyalty, generosity, and commitment to community upliftment, noting that his life continues to inspire those around him.
“Chief Akika is more than a political figure to me, he is a brother whose strength and love have been invaluable,” Oyeniyi said.
He lauded Chief Akika’s philanthropic impact through the Omituntun Benedict Foundation (OBF), which has empowered widows, youths, and indigent families across Oyo State. According to Hon. Oyeniyi, Akika’s humanitarian spirit is a defining trait of his greatness.
“His work with the OBF has brought smiles to many homes, lifted the less privileged, and shown what leadership with compassion truly looks like,” he added.
The former councilor also praised Chief Akika’s steadfast loyalty to the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and his unwavering support for the administration of Governor Seyi Makinde, describing him as a “committed grassroots mobilizer and a key asset to the party.”
As Chief Akika marks another year, Hon. Oyeniyi prayed for continued good health, prosperity, and a life of greater impact for the celebrant.
He concluded the message by acknowledging Akika’s significance not only within the PDP but across the broader political and social landscape of Oyo State.
“Today, we celebrate a rare gem, one whose presence is a blessing to many. Happy birthday, Chief Bene. May you continue to shine and inspire,” Oyeniyi concluded.
