In a powerful testament to his unwavering commitment to effective governance, and human capital development, Ambassador Dr. Kunle Awotiku, the Chief Executive Officer of Uniplan Integrated Services Limited and Chairman of the Kunle Awotiku Foundation, has once again taken a bold step in contributing to the growth and transformation of Oyo State.

Amb. Awotiku, who also serves as the Director of Strategy to Hon. Olufunke Comforter, the honourable member representing Ibadan North Constituency 1 in the Oyo State House of Assembly, played host to an impactful training program designed to sharpen the leadership skills of key grassroots officials in the state.

The event, which held at the Local Government House within the Oyo State Secretariat, was well-attended by secretaries of all Local Council Development Areas (LCDAs) in the state and a select group of elected councillors.

The training sessions focused on two core modules critical to public administration and leadership, Personal Effectiveness and Time Management for LCDA secretaries, and Public Speaking and Communication Skills for councillors.

In the first segment of the program, Amb. Awotiku meticulously took the LCDA secretaries through practical steps and modern techniques required to optimize their roles for better productivity.

He emphasized the importance of self-discipline, prioritization, time-blocking, and strategic planning in improving service delivery at the grassroots level.

According to him, time is a non-renewable resource, and mastering its management is key to effective leadership and administrative success.

The second session was an engaging masterclass with some elected councillors, where Dr. Awotiku shared insights on public speaking, audience engagement, effective messaging, and body language.

He explained that for any leader to be truly impactful, especially in the public space, the ability to communicate confidently and clearly cannot be compromised.

Participants described the sessions as enlightening, empowering, and essential for their duties.

Many shared how they had never received such hands-on, practical training since assuming office, and commended Dr. Awotiku for his exceptional teaching style and generosity of knowledge.

One of the councillors, speaking on behalf of his colleagues, remarked, “Dr. Awotiku has opened our eyes to things we never paid attention to before.

His method of teaching is not just theoretical, it is practical, relatable, and extremely useful.

We hope this will be a regular intervention for us.”

Similarly, several LCDA secretaries expressed gratitude for the opportunity to learn from someone they described as “an embodiment of wisdom, discipline, and leadership excellence.”

They emphasized that the knowledge acquired would be promptly implemented to improve operations at their respective LCDAs.

Amb. Dr. Kunle Awotiku, in his closing remarks, reiterated his vision for a progressive Oyo State where grassroots leaders are not only empowered but also inspired to lead with integrity, competence, and a clear sense of purpose.

He thanked Hon. Olufunke Comforter for her continuous support and encouragement, stating that his current position as Director of Strategy to her legislative team affords him the platform to reach more public servants with transformative knowledge.

He also encouraged participants not to see the training as a one-off event but rather the beginning of a personal journey toward continuous learning and leadership development.

“This is just the beginning,” Awotiku said. “My dream is to see a public service where Public servant, civil servants and elected officers are not just occupying positions but also equipped with the right skills to deliver excellence in governance.

Our state deserves nothing less.”

Participants left the training renewed, re-energized, and with a strong desire for more such sessions in the near future.

The general consensus among attendees is that more individuals like Amb. Dr. Kunle Awotiku visionary, committed, and action-oriented are needed to accelerate growth and sustainable development in Oyo State.
