The Executive Chairman of Ibadan North Local Government, Hon. Oluwaseun Olufade, has commissioned an eight-room public toilet and a motorized borehole in Ward 4 of the local government area.

Hon. Olufade performed the commissioning earlier today in the presence of political bigwigs, party leaders, and residents of Ward 4.

In his remarks, the Executive Chairman expressed gratitude to the residents of Ward 4, political stakeholders, appointees, and the management team of Ibadan North Local Government for their unwavering support in making the project a reality.

He also appreciated God for preserving everyone’s lives to witness the event.

He noted that although the project was completed in November last year, its commissioning was divinely delayed, saying, “God knows best why it is only being commissioned now.”

Hon. Olufade specially praised the Leader of the House and Councilor representing Ward 4, Hon. Taiwo Adebola, for her effective and quality representation.

Recalling his campaign promises, Hon. Olufade stated, “During my electioneering campaign, I promised to deliver the dividends of democracy to Ward 4 if elected.

I’m glad that within less than a year in office, I have already fulfilled that promise.”

He emphasized the significance of the project, noting its dual purpose—a public toilet and a motorized borehole that would serve both the facility and the wider community.

He further revealed that a generating set was donated to power the borehole, while a solar-powered light was also installed to provide illumination at night.

Importantly, the Chairman urged residents to take proper care of the infrastructure.

He also announced that environmental officers would be carrying out periodic inspections to ensure the facility is well-maintained and not misused.

In her goodwill message, the House of Assembly Member representing Ibadan North Constituency 1, Hon. Olufunke Comforter, described Hon. Olufade as a promise-keeper.

She appreciated all leaders, appointees, and residents of Ward 4 for their continued support and encouraged them to keep backing the Chairman’s administration, assuring them that more developmental strides are underway.

Also speaking, the Deputy Chief of Staff to the Governor of Oyo State, Hon. Folajimi Oyekunle (Don), expressed delight at the development brought to Ward 4.

He noted that it had been a long time since the ward experienced such impactful projects and stressed that the facility would benefit all residents, regardless of political affiliation.

He urged the community to show appreciation to the Chairman to motivate him to do even more.

The Chairman of the Oyo State Primary Health Care Board and former House of Representatives Member, Hon. Abiodun Dada Awoleye, who hails from Ward 4, commended the Chairman for delivering the public toilet, motorized borehole, generating set, and solar light.

However, like Oliver Twist, he appealed for more meaningful projects for the ward—particularly the rehabilitation of roads to make them motorable.

He also thanked residents for turning out en masse to grace the commissioning.

Mrs. Felicia Yemisi Ajuwon, wife of the late PDP leader, lauded Hon. Olufade for commissioning the project on the posthumous birthday of her late husband, Engineer Ajuwon.

She appealed for the road named after him to be fixed, noting that such an infrastructural legacy would immortalize him and serve the community for generations.

The borehole was officially commissioned by the Oyo State Commissioner for Women Affairs and Social Inclusion, Hon. Toyin Balogun, who praised Hon. Olufade for delivering quality amenities such as the borehole, public toilet, solar light, and power generator.

The power generating set was formally handed over to Ward 4 leaders, Hon. Odesola and Hon. Mosobalaje, by Hon. Olufunke Comforter.

The public toilet was commissioned by Hon. Lanre Sarumi.

Hon. Joshua oladapo (jossylad) gave the vote of thanks.
