The Ibadan North Local Government chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) was in a state of excitement as Hon. Kabiru Salami, popularly known as De-Bomba, declared his intention to contest in the forthcoming Ibadan North Federal Constituency Bye-election under the PDP.

Hon. Kabiru Salami De-Bomba, a grassroots politician from Ward 2 of Ibadan North, made the declaration during the party’s local government meeting, which had in attendance the Executive Chairman of Ibadan North Local Government, Hon. Oluwaseun Olufade, and the Deputy Chief of Staff to Governor Seyi Makinde, Hon. Folajimi Oyekunle DON, among other party leaders and members.

In his speech, Hon. Kabiru Salami expressed his gratitude for the opportunity to be part of the meeting, commending the party leadership for steering the party in the right direction.

He also applauded Hon. Oluwaseun Olufade for the development strides witnessed in Ibadan North under his administration.

However, he emphasized that politics should not be a do-or-die affair, pledging his support for whoever emerges as the party’s flag bearer in the bye-election.

As a show of support for the party, Hon. Kabiru Salami De-Bomba donated ₦1.2 million to be shared among PDP members in the 12 wards, with each ward receiving ₦100,000.

He also gifted ₦100,000 to the local government party executives and ₦200,000 to party leaders.

Additionally, he provided one bag of rice each to the 12 wards, one bag to the local government party executives, and two bags to the party leaders.

In his remarks, the executive chairman of ibadan North local government, Hon. Oluwaseun Olufade, appreciated Hon. Kabiru Salami De-Bomba for his generosity and reaffirmed his commitment to party unity and development.

He commended party members for their unwavering support and turnout despite the harsh weather, noting that their dedication has made the PDP the dominant political force in Ibadan North.

The chairman also announced his personal donation of two bags of rice for each of the 12 wards and two bags for the local government executives as a Ramadan package.

Similarly, the Deputy Chief of Staff to Governor Seyi Makinde, Hon. Folajimi Oyekunle DON, donated ₦100,000 to each of the 12 wards as a Ramadan package.

He lauded the party’s grassroots strength and urged members to remain steadfast in their support for the PDP.

The meeting was well attended by party executives, leaders, and members, further strengthening the party’s unity ahead of the bye-election.
