The Sabo community in Ibadan North Local Government is set to witness a significant environmental transformation as Hon. Ibrahim Faira, the Councilor representing Ward 6, officially flags off the Operation Keep Sabo Clean initiative.

The initiative, launched in collaboration with the Oyo State Ministry of Environment and Natural Resources, led by Hon. Commissioner Abdulmojeed Mogbonjubola, aims to promote a cleaner and healthier community by ensuring proper waste disposal and routine sanitation.

The flag-off ceremony is scheduled to take place today at 12:00 PM in front of Sarkin Sabo Palace, Sabo, Ibadan North, with notable dignitaries in attendance, including Hon. Oluwaseun Olufade, the Executive Chairman of Ibadan North Local Government.

Hon. Faira has been at the forefront of environmental sanitation in Sabo, especially during the recent cholera outbreak in the community.
Over time, he has personally funded the bi-monthly sanitation exercises and covered the cost of refuse disposal to maintain a hygienic environment.

With the launch of Operation Keep Sabo Clean, the effort now takes a broader approach, integrating government resources to sustain cleanliness in the area.
Waste bins will be provided at strategic points across Sabo, allowing residents to properly dispose of their refuse.
The waste management team will subsequently transport the collected waste to designated disposal sites.

While residents will be required to contribute a fee for service delivery, this initiative ensures that the reckless dumping of refuse on medians and streets will no longer be tolerated.
The project is designed to establish an everyday sanitation routine, transforming Sabo into a cleaner and more livable environment.

Hon. Faira reaffirmed his commitment to maintaining a sustainable waste management system, urging residents to actively participate in the initiative.
“This is a collective effort. A cleaner environment means a healthier community, and we must all play our part,” he said.
With the collaboration between the Ward 6 Councilor and the Oyo State Ministry of Environment and Natural Resources, Sabo community is now set to experience a new era of proper sanitation and environmental responsibility.
