
As the world joins hands to celebrate International Women’s Day (IWD) 2025, the Vice Chairman of Egbeda Local Government and Political Head/Administrator of Ajorosun LCDA, Hon. Ibrahim Oladebo Simple, has expressed deep appreciation for the remarkable achievements and sacrifices of women in Egbeda, Ajorosun, Oyo State, Nigeria, and beyond.
In a statement marking the global event, Hon. Oladebo Simple emphasized that women’s contributions to nation-building, economic growth, and societal stability cannot be overstated.
He noted that from politics to business, education to healthcare, and family life to community development, women continue to shape the world through their resilience and leadership.
“Women are not just caregivers or supporters; they are leaders, visionaries, and pillars of development.
Their dedication to shaping a better society is evident in every aspect of life, and we must continue to uplift, empower, and support them,” he stated.
He commended the industrious and enterprising women in Egbeda and Ajorosun, acknowledging their roles in driving local economies, nurturing families, and fostering peace and development within their communities.
According to him, no society can truly progress without recognizing and investing in the potential of its women.
Hon. Oladebo Simple also called for greater opportunities for women in governance, entrepreneurship, and education, urging government institutions, corporate bodies, and civil society organizations to implement policies that break barriers and create equal platforms for women to excel.
“As we celebrate this year’s International Women’s Day, I encourage all stakeholders to take deliberate steps toward gender inclusivity.
Women deserve not just recognition but active participation in decision-making processes that shape our society,” he said.
He further praised Governor Seyi Makinde for his commitment to women’s empowerment, noting that his leadership has continued to open doors for women in Oyo State’s political and administrative landscape.
Concluding his message, Hon. Oladebo Simple reaffirmed his commitment to supporting women at all levels, promising to continue advocating for policies that enhance their growth, safety, and opportunities.
