Mayegun Sunday Olusegun Babanumi, Founder of the Sunday Olusegun Babanumi Initiative (S.O.B.I), has launched an educational support program aimed at students across Ibadan NorthWest and SouthWest local government areas.

This initiative spans Wards 1 to 11 in Ibadan NorthWest and Wards 1 to 12 in Ibadan SouthWest, demonstrating his commitment to the empowerment and development of his constituency.

The announcement came as Mayegun officially declared his intention to contest in 2027 for a seat in the Federal House of Representatives to represent the Ibadan NorthWest/SouthWest Federal Constituency.

The declaration was made in two phases: first, on Friday, January 10, 2024, at Ibadan NorthWest Council, Onireke, and then on Wednesday, January 15, 2024, during Ibadan SouthWest Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) meeting held at Oke-Ado, Ibadan.

In a show of goodwill and dedication to grassroots development, Mayegun donated cash to constituents and executive officers across all wards in the two local governments.

This gesture underscores his commitment to addressing the immediate needs of the people while laying the groundwork for long-term progress.

Reflecting on his political journey, Mayegun recounted his previous bid for the position of Executive Chairman of Ibadan NorthWest Local Government.

While he stepped aside to support another candidate at the time, he emphasized that he is now fully prepared to represent his people at the Green Chamber of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.

According to him, his mission is to uplift his constituents, alleviate their challenges, and guide them toward a better quality of life.

Mayegun also commended Governor Seyi Makinde for his exemplary leadership and developmental strides in Oyo State.

He pledged to emulate the governor’s progressive approach and to prioritize initiatives that benefit the people of Ibadan NorthWest/SouthWest.
