Last week, Attaofeequ Billahi International School joined the global community to prioritise mental wellness and emotional intelligence.

by marking “Are You Okay?” Day. This initiative strikes a chord deeply, – we acknowledge that countless individuals silently struggle with various challenges – health, economic, or personal.

Often, the weight of these burdens is exacerbated by societal expectations to project confidence and independence. We forget that vulnerability and seeking help are signs of strength, not weakness.

We reiterate again that as an educational institution, there is more to academics as our mandate and responsibility on the students.

We strive to build empathetic and well-rounded individuals equipped to swim through the various complexities of life.

We are addressing mental health issues and encouraging open communication, – and with this, by default, we are fulfilling a critical aspect of our educational mandate.

Our students’ emotional well-being is integral to their cognitive development and future success.

On “R U Ok?” Day, we led our students to engage on thought-provoking discussions and activities designed to expose them to the culture of care and concern.

We emphasised the importance of active listening, empathy, and seeking support when needed. We ask them to normalise these conversations, and by consistently doing this, we empower them to give premium to their mental health and build stronger relationships.

This initiative aligns with global best practices. In Europe, similar awareness days have yielded positive outcomes, and has encouraged individuals to speak openly about their struggles, share their worries with friends or confide in someone at the least of it.

Attaofeequ Billahi International School proudly integrates these relevant global perspectives into our educational framework, and we ensure our students remain connected to the realities in the wider world.

This is an assurance to our parents and guardians that we value their child’s emotional well-being alongside academic excellence.

Our commitment to build and advance empathy and right-thinking ensures the students develop into compassionate and very responsible individuals.

We remain resolute to providing an encouraging environment that allows our students to grow, learn, and thrive, and we won’t be distracted.
