Oyo market leader, Princess Folashade Abeo Nurudeen, on Monday felicitated with Nigerian Muslims on the occasion of the year 2024 Eid-El-Maulud.
Abeo, in a statement made available to newsmen in Ibadan, urged Muslims to uphold and embody the Prophet’s timeless virtues of peace, kindness, humility, and selflessness, especially in their daily interactions.
She called on Nigerians to use this opportunity to reflect on his teachings of love, kindness, and tolerance, which will help us build stronger communities and a more harmonious society.
She further called on the Muslim Ummah to seize this spiritual moment to pray for enduring peace, love, and unity in our collective pursuit of building a stronger, more prosperous Nigeria.
Princess Abeo, who equally called on the good people of Oyo state to continue praying for Governor Makinde, noted that his administration has witnessed unprecedented development in Oyo state.
She commended the Governor for his laudable initiatives including the introduction of SaFER to mitigate the hardship caused by fuel subsidy removal on residents of Oyo State.
Abeo said: “Oyo state government was the first state to announce and implement measures to reduce the hardship through the Sustainable Action for Economic Recovery (SafER) programme.
“We have been paying wage award; N25,000 for workers and N15,000 for pensioners, and we have paid for close to six months.
“The Governor equally announced an extension of the wage award for another six months to have the time to conclude the discussion on minimum wage.
“It’s no doubt that market traders have greatly benefitted from his laudable initiative, and as such, we will continue to pray for the Governor and the entire members of his team for their good service delivery.”
