In continuation of efforts to address food inflation among citizens of Ibadan environs, the George Aid Foundation USA and its Nigerian counterpart, in collaboration with the Rotary Club of Ibadan Jericho Metro, presented food items to freelance and contract staff of the state Broadcasting House (BCOS).
Over 100 packs of food palliatives were distributed to members of the Radio, Television, Theatre, and Art Workers Union (RATTAWU) BCOS Chapter.
Rotarian Salisu Afolabi, President of the Rotary Club of Ibadan Jericho Metro, said the collaboration with George Aid Foundation is part of their efforts to render services to humanity, including effecting meaningful change in Oyo State. He added that the palliative distribution aims to solve problems and challenges within Ibadan metropolis by utilizing their time, treasures, and talent.
While presenting the palliatives, RATTAWU BCOS Chairman Comrade Kola Carew said the union will continue to prioritize its members’ welfare. He commended the George Aid Foundation and Rotary Club for collaborating with them to fulfill his promise made when he assumed office.
In his goodwill message, BCOS General Manager Mr. Goke Adelakun applauded the George Aid Foundation’s spirit of partnership with the Rotary Club of Ibadan Jericho Metro in addressing food inflation. He called on well-meaning individuals to support the masses during this crucial time.
The monthly food package presented consisted of rice, cassava flakes, fish, and other food condiments.
