The Executive Chairman of Ibadan North Local Government, Hon. Oluwaseun Olufade, has felicitated with Oyo South APM Senatorial Candidate and the Federal lawmaker representing Ibadan North-West/Ibadan South-West Federal Constituency, Hon. Dhikrullahi Olajide Odidiomo, on the occasion of his birthday, describing him as an impactful representative, a man of capacity and a politician whose interventions have continued to make meaningful differences in the lives of his constituents and people across Oyo State.
In a goodwill message marking the lawmaker’s birthday, Olufade described Odidiomo as a public servant who has demonstrated that effective representation goes beyond occupying a legislative seat, stressing that the essence of representation is the ability to identify the needs of the people and translate them into tangible programmes, projects, empowerment and opportunities.
According to Olufade, Odidiomo has distinguished himself through his commitment to the development and empowerment of his constituents, particularly in the area of Information and Communication Technology.
He noted that as Chairman of the House Committee on ICT and Cybersecurity, Odidiomo has brought considerable attention to the importance of digital skills, technology, cybersecurity and innovation in the development of Nigeria and the empowerment of young people.
Olufade particularly commended the federal lawmaker for his numerous ICT-focused empowerment initiatives, describing them as investments in the future of young Nigerians.
He said the establishment and facilitation of ICT and digital learning centres across Oyo South Senatorial District represent an important contribution to expanding access to digital knowledge and creating opportunities for young people to acquire skills relevant to today’s increasingly technology-driven economy.
The Ibadan North Local Government Chairman further noted that the impact of Odidiomo’s interventions has not been restricted to his immediate federal constituency, stressing that his initiatives have continued to benefit people across different communities and parts of Oyo South and beyond.
He said the lawmaker’s commitment to empowering people through technology demonstrates an understanding of the changing demands of the modern world, where digital literacy, ICT skills, cybersecurity knowledge and technological entrepreneurship are becoming increasingly important to education, employment and economic advancement.
Olufade described Odidiomo as “Mr Capacity,” saying his legislative responsibilities, constituency interventions and empowerment programmes have provided ample evidence of his commitment to delivering meaningful representation.
“Odidiomo is a representative who is truly representing his constituency and his constituents.
His impact is not measured merely by words, but by the opportunities, empowerment and projects that have continued to reach the people,” Olufade said.
He added that the lawmaker’s work in the ICT sector is particularly commendable because of its potential to give young people the tools required to participate meaningfully in the digital economy.
According to him, the digital learning centres and ICT interventions facilitated by Odidiomo are not just physical projects but platforms through which young people can acquire knowledge, develop employable skills and position themselves for opportunities in a rapidly changing global economy.
