As Nigeria marks its 66th Independence Anniversary, the Vice Chairman of Egbeda Local Government and Political Head/Administrator of Ajorosun LCDA, Hon. Ibrahim Oladebo Simple, has called on Nigerians to reflect on the nation’s journey and renew their commitment to unity, peace and development.
In a goodwill message commemorating the anniversary, Oladebo described Nigeria’s independence as a symbol of self-rule, resilience and the collective strength of its people.

He noted that despite the country’s diversity in culture, language, faith and communities, Nigerians remain connected by a shared aspiration for a peaceful and prosperous nation.
“Independence represents more than the attainment of self-rule; it is a testament to the courage, resilience, diversity and enduring spirit of the Nigerian people,” he said.
The Egbeda council vice chairman also paid tribute to those who contributed to Nigeria’s independence and national development, urging citizens to continue working towards a country where people can access dignity, opportunity and hope.
According to him, Nigeria’s potential is reflected in the contributions of young people, families, entrepreneurs, professionals, farmers, artisans and public servants who continue to support national growth.

He encouraged Nigerians to remain hopeful and patriotic while promoting peace and responsible leadership, adding that diversity should continue to serve as a source of strength for the country.
The message was issued as part of activities marking Nigeria’s 66th Independence Anniversary, with Oladebo extending goodwill wishes to residents of Egbeda Local Government, the people of Ajorosun LCDA and Nigerians across the country.
“May the Federal Republic of Nigeria continue to grow in peace, unity and prosperity,” he said.
