Organisers of the highly anticipated Boye Nation Concert have announced that the political music event will now take place on Monday, September 21, 2026, at the Lekan Salami Stadium, Adamasingba, Ibadan.
The organising committee explained that the date adjustment was necessary to accommodate a major political engagement scheduled for the initial date while allowing for improved logistics and wider participation.
The concert, which is expected to feature more than 20 leading artistes from various music genres, is projected to serve as a platform for the formal reception of loyalists of former Minister of Power, Chief Bayo Adelabu, who are moving from the All Progressives Congress (APC) to the Allied Peoples Movement (APM).
The defectors, led by the former minister’s aide, Ajiboye Akande Sangogade, popularly known as Boye Nation, are expected to be welcomed into the APM fold during the event.
The development was announced at a media briefing held on Sunday at the Jericho campaign office of the APM governorship candidate in Oyo State, Mr. Bimbo Adekanbi.
Speaking at the event, the APM Chairman in Oyo State, Otunba Fagbemi Adegbenro, welcomed the Boye Nation group and pledged that an APM administration would run an inclusive government driven by the energy and contributions of young people across the state.
Adegbenro also called on party supporters, mobilisation groups, and voters to intensify efforts toward securing victory for APM candidates in Oyo State and across Nigeria during the general elections.
Other members of the organising committee who addressed journalists included APM spokesperson in Oyo State, Michael Ogunsina; renowned sports broadcaster Babatunde Saheed (Mr. Sports); Ademola Adeeyo; Alhaji Oyewole Raji; and Damola Omiyale.
They described the concert as a major boost to the party’s political mobilisation efforts in the state and confirmed that Governor Seyi Makinde is expected to attend the event personally.
According to the organisers, the revised date will enable them to deliver a memorable experience while creating an opportunity for the official reception of the Boye Nation group into the APM family by Governor Makinde.
They added that the event would strengthen collaboration among stakeholders involved in the party’s mobilisation activities and deepen political engagement ahead of the elections.
The organisers further highlighted the partnership between Ajiboye Sangogade (Boye Nation) and Otunba Seye Famojuro, describing it as a strategic collaboration aimed at advancing APM’s prospects in Oyo State and Nigeria.
They urged journalists, bloggers, and other media professionals to provide extensive coverage of the concert before, during, and after the event, noting that the gathering is intended to promote unity, collaboration, and the party’s political activities.
