The Chief Whip of the Oyo State House of Assembly and member representing the good people of Atiba State Constituency, Hon. Gbenga Joseph Oyekola, has extended his heartfelt congratulations to the Executive Governor of Oyo State, His Excellency, Engr. Seyi Makinde, and the First Lady of the state, Her Excellency, Engr. Tamunominini Olufunke Makinde, on the conferment of the prestigious chieftaincy titles of Aare Soludero of Yorubaland and Yeye Soludero of Yorubaland, respectively.
Hon. Oyekola described the honour bestowed on the Governor and his wife by the Eleruwa of Eruwa Land, Oba Samuel Adebayo Adegbola (Ajobo Olurin 11), as a well-deserved recognition of their exceptional contributions to the development, progress and overall transformation of Oyo State and the Yoruba nation.
According to the lawmaker, the conferment of the highly revered traditional titles is a reflection of the recognition and appreciation of the couple’s leadership qualities, commitment to public service, humanitarian disposition and sustained contributions towards the welfare and advancement of the people.
The Chief Whip noted that Governor Makinde has continued to distinguish himself through purposeful leadership and a people-oriented approach to governance, which, he said, has brought remarkable development across critical sectors of the state.
He added that the Governor’s commitment to infrastructure development, education, healthcare, security, agriculture and economic expansion has continued to earn him admiration and recognition within and beyond Oyo State.
Hon. Oyekola also commended the First Lady for her unwavering support for the Governor and her contributions to the welfare and empowerment of women, children and other vulnerable members of society.
The Atiba lawmaker described the conferment of the title of Yeye Soludero as a testament to the First Lady’s compassion, dedication to humanitarian causes and commitment to initiatives aimed at improving the lives of the people.
Hon. Oyekola said the traditional honours would further inspire the Governor and his wife to sustain their commitment to service, unity and the development of Oyo State and the Yoruba nation.
He stated that the recognition coming from the traditional institution also underscores the importance of the couple’s relationship with the people and their continued respect for Yoruba cultural heritage and values.
The Chief Whip, while congratulating the Governor and the First Lady on the historic honour, prayed that God would continue to grant them good health, wisdom, strength and greater capacity to continue serving humanity.
Hon. Oyekola expressed confidence that Governor Makinde would continue to provide the leadership required to consolidate the gains of his administration and deliver more developmental projects and policies that would positively impact the lives of the people of Oyo State.
He urged residents of the state to join in celebrating the Governor and his wife, describing the chieftaincy conferment as a moment of pride not only for the Makinde family but also for the government and people of Oyo State.
