The Good Governance Initiative (GGI), under the leadership of its Chairman, Prince Bayo Okeyode, alongside members of its Contact and Mobilisation Committee — Comrade Animashaun, Deacon Ogundare, Mr. Akano Johnson, and Pastor Bioku Adeoye — has continued to expand its grassroots reach and deepen its commitment to promoting good governance across Oyo State.
With a growing membership strength of over 25,000 members spread across the 36 Local Government Areas of Oyo State, GGI is building an increasingly formidable grassroots network made up of citizens from diverse communities and professional backgrounds.

As part of its expansion strategy, GGI has entered into strategic partnerships with several organized trade associations across Oyo State. The latest partnerships with five major associations have brought their leadership and members into the growing GGI family, further strengthening the initiative’s reach and capacity for grassroots engagement.
The associations and their respective leaders are:
- Tinsmith and Metal Fabricators Association, Oyo State — Mr. Moruf Hamed, Chairman
- National Motorcycle Mechanics Association of Nigeria, Oyo State Branch — Mr. Aderemi Ayoade, Chairman
- Fish Sellers Association, Oyo State — Alhaja Yusuf, Chairperson
- Liquor Sellers Association, Oyo State — Chief Adeagbo, Chairman
- Oodua Tomatoes and Pepper Sellers Oyo State Association, Oyo State Branch — Mrs. Bisi Alice, Chairperson
These strategic partnerships are not merely about increasing membership. They represent a deliberate effort by GGI to establish stronger connections with the people at the grassroots and create platforms through which citizens can participate meaningfully in conversations about governance and community development.
The participating associations represent thousands of hardworking artisans, mechanics, traders and entrepreneurs whose contributions are essential to the economic life of Oyo State. Their inclusion in the GGI family therefore gives the initiative an even broader platform to engage citizens across different sectors and communities.

A major focus of GGI’s grassroots activities remains voter education and civic enlightenment. Through its engagements with members and partner associations, the initiative continues to educate citizens on the importance of their Permanent Voter Cards, understanding the electoral process and participating actively in elections.
GGI also emphasizes the importance of making informed choices at the polls by encouraging citizens to vote wisely and support leaders based on competence, character, accountability, performance and commitment to the welfare of the people.
The initiative believes that sustainable good governance cannot be achieved without an informed and active citizenry. Its growing network across all 36 Local Government Areas therefore provides an important platform for taking the message of responsible citizenship, accountability and purposeful leadership directly to communities.
The strategic partnerships further demonstrate the commitment of Prince Bayo Okeyode and the Contact and Mobilisation Committee to building a people-centred movement capable of connecting with citizens across Oyo State.
