The intervention, made shortly after the Jumat prayer, was received with appreciation by the mosque’s leadership and worshippers, with the lawmaker stressing that his support for religious and community institutions was driven by his belief in their role in promoting unity, moral values and peaceful coexistence.

Addressing the congregation, Odidiomo urged muslims to continue praying for peace, security and economic prosperity in Oyo state and Nigeria, while also calling on members of the political class to remain conscious of the responsibilities that come with public office.

He said the country’s challenges required leaders to remain connected to the people and responsive to genuine community needs.

The federal lawmaker described places of worship as more than centres for religious observance, noting that they also serve as important meeting points where values are transmitted and people are mobilized towards peaceful coexistence.

He assured the congregation that he would continue to support initiatives capable of producing tangible benefits for communities across Oyo south.

The 5 million naira intervention, according to the lawmaker, was made to provide immediate support for the mosque’s needs, highlighting what he described as his preference for practical interventions that directly touch the lives of the people.

He maintained that public representation should go beyond political engagements to include meaningful participation in the social and developmental life of communities.

Odidiomo, who is seeking to represent Oyo south senatorial district in the 2027 general election, also used the occasion to reaffirm his commitment to grassroots engagement, urging the people to remain united and continue to support initiatives that promote development across the district.

The mosque leadership expressed appreciation to the lawmaker for identifying with the congregation and responding promptly to the needs of the mosque, describing the donation as a demonstration of his continued relationship with communities beyond political considerations.
