…Warn Against Division, Vow to Protect Unity and Progress in Egbeda

The aspirants who contested the chairmanship ticket of the Allied Peoples Movement (APM) in Egbeda Local Government have unanimously thrown their weight behind the candidacy of Hon. Ibrahim Oladebo Simple, declaring their total support for his emergence as the party’s chairmanship candidate in the forthcoming local government election.










 




The aspirants made their position known during a unity meeting held in Egbeda Local Government on Friday, where they spoke in one voice and reaffirmed their commitment to the success of the party and the collective development of the local government.

The meeting, which was characterised by solidarity and camaraderie, saw the aspirants pledge to work together for the victory of Hon. Ibrahim Oladebo Simple and his running mate, Hon. Tayemo Olusola Job, as the APM flag bearers in the forthcoming election.

In their separate remarks, the aspirants emphatically declared that Egbeda Local Government had spoken with one voice, stressing that they would not work against the party’s candidate but would instead mobilise their supporters and political structures towards ensuring a resounding victory for the APM candidates.

They described Hon. Ibrahim Oladebo Simple as the chosen candidate of the party and assured him of their unwavering support, noting that their decision was driven by their shared commitment to the continued development and progress of Egbeda Local Government.

 

The aspirants also issued a strong warning to individuals who may attempt to sow seeds of disunity among leaders, members and supporters of the party in Egbeda, insisting that there would be no room for actions capable of undermining the unity of the party.

According to them, the interest of Egbeda Local Government must remain paramount, stressing that their collective objective was not about personal ambition but about ensuring continuity, stability and greater development for the people.

They expressed confidence in the capacity of Hon. Ibrahim Oladebo Simple to sustain and build upon the achievements recorded by the incumbent Chairman of Egbeda Local Government, Hon. Sikiru Sanda, describing the existing administration’s accomplishments as a foundation upon which greater development could be achieved.

The aspirants further noted that their unity was a demonstration that the political family in Egbeda was committed to putting the collective interest above individual aspirations.

They pledged to support Hon. Ibrahim Oladebo Simple and Hon. Tayemo Olusola Job with everything within their capacity, while calling on all party leaders, members and supporters to remain united and focused on the forthcoming election.

The aspirants at the meeting included Hon. Olakanmi Olusola Adekunle, Leader of the House from Ward 11; Hon. Jimoh Kolawole Arowolo from Ward 9; Hon. Agboluaje Adewale Abiola (Wale Governor) from Ward 7; Hon. Akinlolu Akinbode Emmanuel from Ward 3; Hon. Jamiu Mayowa Oladejo from Ward 5; and Hon. Lawal Saheed (Aare Omo Aare) from Ward 7.

Speaking at the meeting, Hon. Ibrahim Oladebo Simple expressed profound appreciation to the aspirants for their show of love, solidarity and confidence in his candidacy.

He described their decision to unite behind his candidacy as a demonstration of political maturity and genuine commitment to the progress of Egbeda Local Government.

Oladebo Simple pledged that, if elected as the Executive Chairman of Egbeda Local Government, his administration would operate an all-inclusive government in which every stakeholder, ward and community would have a sense of belonging.

He assured the aspirants and the people of Egbeda that he would not take their support for granted, promising to justify the confidence reposed in him through purposeful leadership and people-oriented development.

“I sincerely appreciate all of you for the love, confidence and support you have shown towards me.

Your decision to come together in unity means a lot to me. By God’s grace, you will never regret the united force you have demonstrated today.

“The development of Egbeda Local Government remains my priority.

I will run an all-inclusive administration where nobody will be left behind.

Together, we will build on the achievements already recorded and take Egbeda to greater heights.”

The meeting ultimately served as a strong demonstration of unity among the APM chairmanship aspirants, with all the participants reaffirming that the collective interest of Egbeda Local Government must take precedence over individual political ambitions.

With the aspirants now united behind the APM ticket, the meeting has further strengthened the party’s resolve to approach the forthcoming local government election as one political family, with a shared vision of continuity, unity and accelerated development for the people of Egbeda.
