The Nigeria Union of Local Government Employees (NULGE), Egbeda Local Government Branch, has honoured the Vice Chairman of Egbeda Local Government and Political Head/Administrator of Ajorosun Local Council Development Area (LCDA), Hon. Ibrahim Oladebo Simple, with the Meritorious Service Award in recognition of his outstanding contributions to grassroots development and unwavering support for local government workers.
The award was presented during a ceremony held on Thursday, July 16, 2026, by the Executive Chairman of Egbeda Local Government, Hon. Sikiru Sanda, in the presence of the NULGE State President, Comrade Ayobami Adeogun, other state executives, and members of the union.
Speaking at the event, the Chairman of NULGE, Egbeda Local Government Branch, Comrade Yusuff Ogunsola (MPH), said the honour was in recognition of Hon. Simple’s exemplary leadership, remarkable developmental achievements in Ajorosun LCDA, and his consistent commitment to the welfare and well-being of NULGE members.
According to him, Hon. Simple has demonstrated exceptional leadership qualities that have positively impacted the council area, making him deserving of the prestigious recognition.
Presenting the award, Hon. Sikiru Sanda described Hon. Simple as a loyal, humble, vibrant, and result-oriented public office holder whose dedication to public service continues to earn admiration.
He commended the Vice Chairman for the visible transformation recorded in Ajorosun LCDA under his leadership, noting that his commitment to delivering quality governance has contributed significantly to the development of the area.
“Hon. Ibrahim Oladebo Simple has performed excellently as the Political Head/Administrator of Ajorosun LCDA. His commitment, loyalty, and passion for service are commendable.
I encourage him to remain steadfast and continue his good works for the benefit of the people,” the chairman said.
Responding, Hon. Ibrahim Oladebo Simple expressed profound appreciation to the leadership and members of NULGE for considering him worthy of the honour.
He described the award as both a privilege and a challenge to rededicate himself to selfless service, stressing that every recognition comes with greater responsibility to serve humanity more effectively.
The Egbeda Vice Chairman also expressed delight that the award was presented by his principal, Hon. Sikiru Sanda, whom he described as a visionary leader, outstanding performer, and worthy mentor whose guidance has continued to inspire his public service journey.
Hon. Simple further assured members of NULGE of his continued support, promising to sustain the cordial relationship between his office and the union while reaffirming his commitment to promoting the welfare of local government workers.
