The Vice Chairman of Egbeda Local Government and Political Head/Administrator of Ajorosun Local Council Development Area (LCDA), Hon. Ibrahim Oladebo Simple, has commended the Executive Governor of Oyo State, Engr. Seyi Makinde, for his exemplary leadership and unwavering commitment to safeguarding the lives of residents, following the successful rescue of the teachers and pupils abducted in Ahoro Community, Oriire Local Government Area.
In a statement issued on Saturday, Hon. Oladebo described the safe return of the victims after weeks in captivity as a moment of great relief and thanksgiving for their families, the people of Oriire, and the entire state.
According to him, the successful rescue is a clear demonstration that Governor Makinde remains resolute in his determination to ensure that no resident of Oyo State is abandoned in times of distress.
He stated that throughout the unfortunate incident, the governor exhibited calm, courage, and purposeful leadership by providing the necessary support and coordination required for security agencies to carry out their responsibilities effectively, leading to the successful rescue of the victims.
Hon. Ibrahim Oladebo noted that Governor Makinde has consistently invested in strengthening the state’s security architecture through collaboration with security agencies, intelligence gathering, and community-based policing, describing the latest rescue operation as another testament to the effectiveness of those efforts.
He equally applauded the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, for sustaining support for security operations across the country, while commending the Nigerian Armed Forces, the Nigeria Police Force, the Department of State Services (DSS), the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), local vigilantes, and other security stakeholders whose professionalism and dedication made the rescue possible.
The Ajorosun LCDA Political Head further urged residents of Oyo State to continue supporting the government and security agencies with timely and credible information that will aid the fight against criminality.
While congratulating the rescued teachers, pupils, and their families, Hon. Oladebo prayed that Almighty God would grant them complete healing and restore all they had lost during their period in captivity.
He expressed confidence that under the leadership of Governor Seyi Makinde, Oyo State would continue to witness improved security, peace, and sustainable development.
