The Executive Assistant to the Governor of Oyo State on Security Coordination, Hon. Kabiru Salami De-Bomba, has commended Governor Seyi Makinde for his exceptional leadership, which led to the successful rescue of the abducted teachers and pupils from Ahoro Community in Oriire Local Government Area.
In a statement issued on Saturday, Hon. Kabiru Salami De-Bomba described the safe return of the victims after 55 days in captivity as a great victory for Oyo State and a testament to Governor Makinde’s unwavering commitment to the security and welfare of every resident.
According to him, the successful operation was not accidental but the product of deliberate intelligence harmonization, effective inter-agency collaboration, and the governor’s consistent investment in strengthening security coordination across the state.
He noted that throughout the period of the victims’ captivity, Governor Makinde maintained close engagement with all relevant security agencies, ensuring seamless intelligence sharing, strategic planning, and operational synergy that eventually led to the successful rescue without compromising the lives of the victims.
Hon. Kabiru Salami De-Bomba stated that Governor Makinde has continued to distinguish himself as a leader who understands that sustainable security is built on cooperation among security agencies, intelligence-driven operations, community support, and decisive leadership.
He praised the governor for providing the enabling environment that has significantly enhanced the operational capacity of security agencies in Oyo State, stressing that the administration’s sustained support has strengthened intelligence gathering and rapid response mechanisms across the state.
The governor’s aide also commended all security agencies, including the military, the Nigeria Police Force, the Department of State Services (DSS), the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), the Amotekun Corps, local vigilante groups, traditional rulers, community leaders, and every stakeholder whose professionalism, resilience, and cooperation contributed to the successful rescue mission.
He said the operation once again demonstrates the effectiveness of coordinated security efforts under Governor Makinde’s leadership and reaffirms the administration’s zero tolerance for criminality in every part of Oyo State.
While rejoicing with the rescued teachers, pupils, and their families, Hon. Kabiru Salami De-Bomba prayed for their complete physical, emotional, and psychological recovery from the traumatic experience.
He also urged residents to remain security conscious, continue to support security agencies with credible and timely information, and sustain the spirit of collective responsibility in safeguarding their communities.
