The Executive Chairman of Ibadan North Local Government, Hon. Oluwaseun Olufade, has commended the Executive Governor of Oyo State, Engr. Seyi Makinde, for his steadfast leadership and unwavering commitment to the protection of lives and property, following the safe release of the teachers and pupils abducted in Ahoro Community, Oriire Local Government Area.

In a statement made available through his head of media, Aderibigbe Yisahu on Friday, Olufade described the release of the victims after 55 days in captivity as heartwarming and a major relief to their families, the affected community, and the people of Oyo State.

He noted that the successful release of the abducted teachers and pupils reflects Governor Makinde’s determination not to relent until every resident of the state can live in peace and security.

According to the council chairman, the governor demonstrated remarkable leadership throughout the difficult period by coordinating efforts with security agencies and ensuring that every lawful measure was explored to secure the freedom of the victims without compromising their safety.

Olufade said the development further reinforces public confidence in the Makinde administration’s resolve to prioritize the security and welfare of the people, describing the governor as a compassionate leader who remains responsive to the concerns of citizens.

He also commended the combined efforts of the security agencies, local vigilante operatives, traditional institutions, community leaders, and all those who played various roles in facilitating the safe return of the victims.

While expressing joy over the development, the Ibadan North Local Government Chairman urged residents of Oyo State to continue supporting security agencies by remaining vigilant and providing credible information capable of preventing criminal activities.

Olufade congratulated the rescued teachers, pupils, and their families on their freedom, praying that God would grant them complete physical, emotional, and psychological healing after the traumatic experience.

He further expressed optimism that with the continued investment of the Makinde-led administration in intelligence gathering, community policing, and security collaboration, Oyo State would remain one of the safest states in Nigeria.

“The safe return of these innocent teachers and pupils is a victory for humanity and a testament to Governor Seyi Makinde’s commitment to safeguarding every resident of Oyo State.

We thank God for their release and appreciate everyone whose sacrifices and professionalism made this possible. May such unfortunate incidents never occur again in our dear state,” Olufade stated.
