The atmosphere at the Ward 12 meeting of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Ibadan North Local Government was filled with excitement and enthusiasm on Thursday, July 9, 2026, as the Deputy Leader of the Ibadan North Local Government Legislative Arm and Councillor representing Ward 12, Hon. Sulaimon Ajao Morenigbola, popularly known as Moonlight, formally declared his intention to seek re-election in the forthcoming local government elections.

The declaration, which was greeted with loud applause and overwhelming support from party leaders, executives, elders, women, youths and members, marked the official commencement of his bid for a second term as the representative of Ward 12.

Addressing party faithful, Hon. Morenigbola expressed profound appreciation to the leadership and members of the ward for the confidence, encouragement and unwavering support they have extended to him throughout his first tenure.
He noted that the trust reposed in him had inspired him to remain committed to selfless service and people-oriented representation.

According to him, his decision to seek another term is driven by his desire to consolidate on the achievements recorded during his first tenure and to ensure that the people of Ward 12 continue to enjoy quality representation and the dividends of democracy.
“My aspiration is borne out of my passion to serve our people better.
I am seeking another mandate to consolidate on what we have started and to continue attracting meaningful development to Ward 12.
By the grace of God, if given another opportunity, I will surpass my previous record and deliver even more to our people,” he declared.

Hon. Morenigbola further assured party members that, if re-elected, he would expand his empowerment initiatives and continue providing financial assistance to party members throughout his tenure.
He also reaffirmed his commitment to supporting widows, vulnerable residents and other less-privileged members of the ward within the limits of his capacity.
“I remain committed to the welfare of our people. I will continue to stand by our widows, the needy and party faithful, while ensuring that our ward enjoys purposeful representation and sustained development,” he said.

In a demonstration of the generosity for which he is widely known, Hon. Morenigbola once again extended financial support to ward executives, elders and party members during the meeting.
The gesture drew widespread commendation from those present, who described him as a compassionate leader whose commitment to the welfare of party members has remained consistent since assuming office.
Party leaders, executives and members, who took turns to speak, praised his accessibility, humility and dedication to grassroots development, noting that his performance as councillor and Deputy Leader has justified the confidence reposed in him by the people.
