The strategic alliance between the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and the Allied Peoples’ Movement (APM) in Oyo state has been described as a formidable political partnership that has gained widespread acceptance and is poised to shape the state’s political future, most especially, the forthcoming 2027 general elections.

Oyo south senatorial candidate of the Allied Peoples’ Movement (APM), Hon. Adedeji Dhikrullahi Olajide Odidiomo, made the declaration on thursday, while welcoming the Oyo state governorship candidate of the APM, Hon. Bimbo Adekanmbi and his running mate, Engr. Muftau Open Salawu, to Ibadan North-west/Ibadan South-west federal constituency of Oyo state, during the party’s statewide Thank-You Tour held at the Jogor Events Centre, Ibadan.

The colourful rally attracted a mammoth crowd of party faithful, leaders, stakeholders, youths, women groups and supporters from across the federal constituency, who gathered to receive the governorship candidate and reaffirm their commitment to the party ahead of the 2027 general election.

Addressing the gathering, Olajide Odidiomo commended Governor Seyi Makinde for facilitating the political alliance between the PDP and the APM, describing the move as one founded on mutual trust, aimed at sustaining the developmental strides recorded in Oyo state by the Omituntun adminstration.

According to him, the collaboration has continued to gain acceptance across the state and represents a practical platform for promoting political stability, inclusive governance and sustainable development.

The federal lawmaker also used the occasion to render an account of his stewardship as the representative of Ibadan North-west/Ibadan South-west federal constituency of Oyo state, over the past seven years, highlighting several interventions in education, digital innovation, youth empowerment, infrastructure development, healthcare, security support and human capital development.

He expressed profound appreciation to party members and supporters for the confidence reposed in him, noting that their overwhelming support and votes made his re-election to the House of Representatives possible.

“I remain sincerely grateful to every party leader, stakeholder and member whose support and confidence made my re-election possible.

The mandate you entrusted to me has continued to inspire me to deliver purposeful representation, and I remain committed to justifying that confidence through quality service to our people,” he said.

Olajide reaffirmed his unreserved endorsement of the governorship candidature of Hon. Adekanmbi and his deputy, Engr. Salawu, expressing confidence in their capacity to provide purposeful and inclusive leadership for Oyo state.

He urged party members to remain united and committed to the ideals of the alliance, stressing that grassroots mobilization would be critical to securing victory for the party in the 2027 general election.

Hon. Adedeji Olajide appreciated members of the PDP/APM alliance in the federal constituency for their loyalty and steadfastness, describing the Thank-You Tour as an opportunity to appreciate party faithful and consolidate existing structures with stakeholders across the state.

He assured supporters that an APM-led administration in Oyo state and Nigeria at large, would prioritize inclusive governance, economic prosperity, youth empowerment, quality education, improved security and accelerated infrastructural development as it’s core mandate.

Party leaders and stakeholders present at the rally include, Oyo state chairman of APM, Otunba Fagbemi Adegbenro; Oyo state chairman of PDP, Chief Dayo Adegbenro; Oyo state secretary of PDP, Hon. Wasiu Adeleke; Mogaji Nureni Akanbi; Dr. Remi Ayodele; Hon. Tajudeen Abass Alesinloye; Hon. Akeem Azeez, as well as other prominent political leaders, party executives and supporters from across the federal constituency.
