Oyo State Governor, Seyi Makinde, has advised the governorship candidate of the Allied Peoples Movement (APM) in Oyo State, Hon. Bimbo Adekanmbi, not to inherit his political enemies but instead forge his own path if elected into office.
Makinde gave the advice while speaking during the APM Governorship Primary Election, where Adekanmbi emerged as the party’s consensus governorship candidate ahead of the 2027 general elections in Oyo State.

The governor urged Adekanmbi to remain committed to good governance, service to the people, and independent leadership, stressing that public office comes with human imperfections and unavoidable mistakes.

“Don’t inherit my enemies; create your own political path. I am only human, and I make mistakes,” Makinde stated.
Makinde further charged the APM governorship candidate to consolidate on the achievements of his administration while striving to deliver even better governance for the people of Oyo State.
“Ensure you improve on whatever we have done for the benefit of our people,” the governor added.

Addressing party faithful and residents at the event, Makinde reflected on the successes recorded under his Omituntun administration, expressing confidence that the next phase of leadership would surpass previous achievements.
“You experienced Omituntun 1.0 during my first term. You have also witnessed Omituntun 2.0 in my second term. Omituntun 3.0 is coming, and I assure you that Bimbo Adekanmbi will serve you even better,” he said.
The governor’s remarks were greeted with loud applause from party supporters, stakeholders, and loyalists present at the primary election, as the APM intensifies preparations for the 2027 governorship election in Oyo State.
