As Muslim faithful across Nigeria and the world celebrate the 2026 Eid-el-Kabir festival, the Vice Chairman of Egbeda Local Government and Political Head/Administrator of Ajorosun LCDA, Hon. Ibrahim Oladebo Simple, has extended heartfelt felicitations to the Muslim Ummah, urging them to embrace the enduring lessons of sacrifice, obedience, tolerance, and compassion which the sacred celebration symbolizes.
In a statement made available to newsmen on Wednesday, Hon. Ibrahim Oladebo Simple congratulated Muslims on witnessing another Eid-el-Kabir celebration in good health and peace, noting that the season serves as a powerful reminder of total submission to the will of Almighty Allah as demonstrated by Prophet Ibrahim (AS).
The Egbeda Vice Chairman described Eid-el-Kabir as a spiritual season that transcends merriment, stressing that its significance lies in selflessness, generosity to humanity, and unwavering faith in God.
According to him, “Eid-el-Kabir teaches us the virtues of sacrifice, patience, humility, and absolute trust in Allah. It is a period that calls for sober reflection, renewed hope, and greater commitment to peaceful coexistence and communal harmony.”
Hon. Ibrahim Oladebo Simple admonished Muslims and residents of Egbeda Local Government and Ajorosun LCDA to use the festive period to strengthen bonds of unity, extend love to neighbors, and support the less privileged in society.
He emphasized the need for citizens to continue promoting peace, religious tolerance, and mutual understanding irrespective of ethnic, political, or religious differences, adding that sustainable development can only thrive in an atmosphere of peace and stability.
The Ajorosun LCDA Political Head further called on the people to remember Oyo State and Nigeria in prayers, especially at a time when the nation is confronting economic and security challenges.
He prayed for divine wisdom and strength for leaders at all levels, while expressing optimism that the country would overcome its current difficulties through collective efforts, unity, and God’s intervention.
Hon. Ibrahim Oladebo Simple also commended the administration of the Governor of Oyo State, Seyi Makinde, for its sustained commitment to infrastructural growth, security, grassroots development, and people-oriented governance across the state.
He noted that the governor’s leadership style continues to inspire confidence among the people and has contributed immensely to the relative peace and steady progress being enjoyed in Oyo State.
