For the people of Akinyele Local Government, the last two years under the administration of Hon. Wole Akinleye have been marked by unprecedented grassroots development and people oriented governance.







 

Since assuming office as Executive Chairman, Hon Akinwole Akinleye has continued to replicate the good works of His Principal, The Executive Governor of Oyo State, Engr Seyi Makinde by delivering impactful projects across communities in the twelve wards of the local government.




His administration’s achievements in infrastructure, healthcare, empowerment, security and community development have not only transformed lives but also strengthened public confidence in local government administration thus reaffirming the peoples Confidence and trust in him and calling for his continuity in office.

 

 

 


From Moniya to Ojoo, Olorisaoko to Omilabu, residents continue to point to visible projects as evidence of purposeful leadership and effective service delivery. One of the defining features of the administration has been its extensive infrastructural development across several communities.

The renovation of the Akinyele Legislative Building on assumption of office and the construction of the Permanent Moniya Police Area Command Headquarters at Temidire commissioned by the Deputy Governor of Oyo State, His Excellency, Barr Adebayo Abdulraheem Lawal have significantly improved government and security operations within the council area.

Communities such as Olorisaoko and Omilabu benefited from the construction of strategic culverts and bridges aimed at easing transportation and controlling erosion.

In Ward 5, Sagbe, Moniya, the administration constructed a block of three classrooms at Community Primary School to consolidate the efforts of the state Government in reducing number of out of school Children, while additional classroom projects were facilitated at HLA Primary School, Ojoo, Community High School Apapa, Sango Ibon Community High School, Onidundun Community Primary School and Community Primary School Otun Agbaakin through collaboration with the Community and Social Development Agency (CSDA).

The administration also executed asphalt road projects at Aduloju-Livingspring and the Alagbaa-Akinyele axis, while feeder roads in communities across the twelve wards were graded to improve accessibility and movement of goods and services.

Access to clean water and electricity has equally improved across many communities through targeted interventions of the administration. Motorized boreholes were drilled at Oke Bank Moniya, Temidire, Olorisaoko, Olanla village, Oje-Emo, Sango-Ibon, Onidundun and Ajobo-Atan village to provide potable water for residents.

The administration also donated generating sets to Elekuru, Arulogun and other communities to power neglected motorized boreholes, while solar powered streetlights have been continuously distributed across the twelve wards of the local government.

Financial support and interventions were also provided for transformer installations in Oremeji Street, Abuyi Community, Ademilokun Community and Alagbayun Community among others. Rural electrification support was also extended to various communities to improve security and commercial activities.

In the areas of healthcare, empowerment and social welfare, Hon. Wole Akinleye’s administration has maintained strong focus on improving the wellbeing of residents.

The ongoing renovation and lighting of the Orogun Health Centre/Maternity Centre, alongside financial assistance for its upgrade, Donation of a rare Heart start Machine worth millions of Naira to Moniya Primary Health Care Center, have strengthened healthcare delivery in the area.

A new healthcare centre was facilitated at Aroro Makinde, while a Primary Health Care Centre was also facilitated in Ojoo Ward 8. Beyond healthcare infrastructure, the administration organized annual free healthcare schemes, cholera sensitization campaigns and gender based violence awareness programmes across markets within the local government.

Widows, women and youths also benefited from empowerment initiatives such as waste-to-wealth programmes, grants facilitation, cash support and cooperative schemes aimed at improving livelihoods and encouraging economic self-reliance.

The administration also recorded notable achievements in security, youth development and community engagement. Security agencies including both state and non state actors within the local government received patrol vans, motorcycles, office upgrades and other security apparatus to strengthen operations and improve safety across communities.

The administration consistently engaged traditional rulers, community leaders and stakeholders through the restructuring of CDCs and CDAs, while office equipment was provided to community executives to improve coordination at the grassroots level.

Youth-focused initiatives such as the sponsorship of the Akinyele Youth Forum Community Cup, Akinyele Annual Ramadan Football Competition, Partnership with Akinyele Youth Forum on Behavioral Change Initiatives across secondary schools, Constant financial support for youth programs and the foundation laying of the Akinyele Youth Forum Multipurpose Building further demonstrated the Executive chairman’s commitment to youth engagement and talent development.

As Hon. Wole Akinleye marks two years in office, many residents believe his administration has become a reference point for impactful grassroots governance, with visible projects and direct interventions spread across communities and thus the peoples Demand for Continuity in office.
