The political atmosphere in Oyo State received another major boost on Thursday as the Guild of Publishers and Influencers Association, Oyo State Chapter, officially declared its endorsement and unwavering support for the gubernatorial aspiration of Hon. Bimbo Adekanmbi ahead of the 2027 governorship election.
The declaration was contained in a communiqué issued at the end of a strategic and well-attended meeting held at the Association’s State Headquarters in Ibadan, where executive members, prominent media practitioners, digital influencers, publishers, and stakeholders from different geopolitical zones of the state converged to deliberate on the political future and developmental trajectory of Oyo State.
In a unanimous resolution reached after extensive consultations and deliberations, the Guild described Hon. Bimbo Adekanmbi as a credible, visionary, intellectually grounded, energetic, and progressive leader whose leadership qualities align perfectly with the aspirations of the people and the developmental agenda currently transforming Oyo State.
The Association emphasized that the endorsement was driven by the need to sustain and consolidate the remarkable achievements recorded under the administration of Governor Seyi Makinde, whose tenure has been widely applauded for infrastructural renewal, economic growth, improved healthcare delivery, educational advancement, youth empowerment, and inclusive governance.
According to the communiqué, members of the Guild strongly believe that Oyo State cannot afford a reversal of progress, stressing that the state deserves a seamless continuation of purposeful governance, innovation, competence, and people-oriented leadership beyond 2027.
The Association noted that Governor Makinde assumed office at a relatively youthful age and has successfully demonstrated that visionary and energetic leadership remains critical to sustainable development.
It therefore maintained that supporting another youthful and vibrant leader like Hon. Bimbo Adekanmbi represents a progressive political direction capable of preserving and advancing the gains already achieved in the state.

The Guild of Publishers and Influencers Association, Oyo State Chapter, after a well-attended strategic meeting held at its State Headquarters in Ibadan, has unanimously declared its total support and endorsement for the gubernatorial aspiration of Hon. Bimbo Adekanmbi ahead of the 2027 Oyo State Governorship Election.
The meeting, which brought together executive members, media practitioners, digital influencers, publishers, and stakeholders from across the geopolitical zones of Oyo State, extensively deliberated on the future of the state, the need for continuity in governance, and the importance of sustaining the developmental strides witnessed under the administration of His Excellency, Engr. Seyi Makinde.
After careful consideration, observations, and consultations, the Association resolved to throw its weight behind Hon. Bimbo Adekanmbi, describing him as a credible, vibrant, intellectually sound, and youthful leader whose vision aligns with the aspirations of the people of Oyo State.
The Association noted that Governor Seyi Makinde assumed office as Governor at a relatively youthful age and has since transformed governance in Oyo State through purposeful leadership, infrastructural renewal, economic repositioning, improved education, enhanced healthcare delivery, youth inclusion, and people-oriented policies.
According to the communiqué, the support for Hon. Bimbo Adekanmbi is largely rooted in the belief that governance in Oyo State must not experience regression, but rather a seamless continuation of competence, innovation, inclusiveness, and developmental leadership.
The Association further emphasized that Hon. Bimbo Adekanmbi represents the new generation of progressive leadership required to consolidate on the achievements of the current administration while opening new frontiers of opportunities for the youths, women, media professionals, entrepreneurs, and the general populace.
“As media stakeholders and opinion molders who interact daily with the pulse of the people across all zones of Oyo State, we understand the yearnings of the citizens for continuity, stability, development, and visionary leadership.
“After extensive deliberations, we have unanimously resolved to endorse Hon. Bimbo Adekanmbi as our preferred candidate for the 2027 gubernatorial election in Oyo State.
“Our decision is based on his personality, accessibility, leadership capacity, political understanding, humility, and his alignment with the developmental blueprint already established by His Excellency, Engr. Seyi Makinde.
“We strongly believe that the future of Oyo State must remain in the hands of competent, energetic, and people-driven leaders who understand modern governance and the importance of continuity.”
The Guild also commended Governor Seyi Makinde for his bold commitment to youth inclusion and political succession built on competence rather than sentiment, noting that supporting another energetic and visionary leader below the age of 50 reflects a progressive and future-focused political direction.
Furthermore, the Association called on youths, media professionals, civil society groups, artisans, market leaders, students, and all well-meaning residents of Oyo State to rally behind the aspiration of Hon. Bimbo Adekanmbi in the collective interest of sustaining development and advancing the prosperity of the state.
The Guild reaffirmed its commitment to responsible journalism, democratic values, issue-based political engagement, and constructive participation in the democratic process ahead of 2027.
