A frontline House of Representatives candidate for Akinyele/Lagelu Federal Constituency, Toheeb Adegoke, has officially resigned from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), citing the lingering internal crisis within the party and the need to embrace a clearer political direction ahead of the 2027 general elections.
In a statement personally signed by him, the politician, popularly known as ADLAT, disclosed that the decision followed extensive consultations with political associates, supporters, and stakeholders across the constituency.

According to him, his resignation letter has been formally submitted to the PDP Ward Chairman in Ward 11, Akinyele Local Government, thereby ending his years of active involvement and commitment within the party structure.
He further revealed that he had requested the removal of all his personal information, including his name, National Identification Number (NIN), email address, and phone number, from the party’s records and registration database.

Despite his exit from the PDP, ADLAT reaffirmed his unwavering loyalty, admiration, and respect for the Governor of Oyo State, Seyi Makinde, noting that the governor’s style of governance continues to inspire many young progressive politicians across the state.
“While taking this difficult but necessary decision, my loyalty, respect and admiration for Governor Seyi Makinde remain unshaken. His governance philosophy continues to inspire many young progressive politicians across the state, including myself,” the statement read.
The former PDP member also announced plans to unveil a new political party in the coming days, under which he intends to pursue his grassroots political movement and aspiration to represent the people of Akinyele/Lagelu Federal Constituency at the House of Representatives.
The development is expected to generate fresh political conversations within the constituency as preparations for the 2027 elections gradually gather momentum.
