Hon. Bala Muhammad, a Supervisory Councillor in Ibadan North Local Government, has congratulated Folajimi Oyekunle DON and Olufunke Comforter on their emergence as the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) candidates for another term in office.

Folajimi Oyekunle, who represents Ibadan North Federal Constituency, secured his return ticket through a consensus arrangement reached by party leaders and stakeholders at a high-level meeting attended by the Oyo State Governor, Seyi Makinde, and his deputy, Bayo Lawal.





Popularly known as DON, Oyekunle was elected during the August 16, 2025 bye-election to complete the tenure of the late Musiliu Akinremi.

Since assuming office, he has been widely commended for his effective representation and responsiveness to the needs of his constituents.


In the same vein, Comforter, a serving member of the Oyo State House of Assembly representing Ibadan North Constituency I, also secured the PDP ticket to contest for a second term, having been first elected in 2023.

In a congratulatory statement, Hon. Bala Muhammad who hails from ward 6 of Ibadan north local government described the emergence of both candidates as “well-deserved,” noting that their return tickets reflect their outstanding performance, loyalty to the party, and unwavering commitment to the people.

 



 

 


He praised both lawmakers for their impactful contributions, stating that they have consistently demonstrated capacity and dedication in their respective offices.

“Hon. Folajimi Oyekunle and Hon. Olufunke Comforter have both justified the confidence reposed in them through quality representation and grassroots engagement.

Their re-nomination is a clear reward for excellence and a call to higher service,” he said.

Hon. Bala Muhammad further expressed optimism that the duo would record even greater achievements if re-elected, urging the people of Ibadan North to continue supporting them at the polls.

He also commended the PDP leadership for adopting consensus, describing it as a reflection of unity and strategic coordination within the party.
