Hon. Abiola Monsuru Olalekan has emerged as the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) candidate for the Oyo State House of Assembly, Akinyele Constituency I, ahead of the forthcoming elections.
The serving lawmaker was returned as the party’s flagbearer following a consensus arrangement reached at a stakeholders’ and party leaders’ meeting attended by top government functionaries, including the Oyo State Governor, Seyi Makinde, and the Deputy Governor, Bayo Lawal.
According to sources within the party, the decision to grant Hon. Abiola Olalekan Monsuru a second-term ticket was based on his performance, experience, and continued relevance in the constituency.
Leaders and Stakeholders agreed that continuity would further consolidate ongoing development efforts and strengthen the party’s position in Akinyele Constituency I.
After thorough deliberations, party leaders unanimously endorsed him as the consensus candidate, reaffirming their confidence in his ability to deliver effective representation.
The development has been met with enthusiasm among party members and supporters, many of whom view his re-nomination as a strategic move to sustain progress and deepen legislative impact in the constituency.
