The Youth Leadership of Egbeda Local Government has dismissed reports alleging that members of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) youth wing in the area are opposing the purported third-term ambition of Hon. Olasunkanmi Babalola.
In a press statement issued by the Egbeda Local Government Youth Leader, Comrade Aderemi Oderinlo, the group categorically denied any involvement in such claims, describing the reports as false and misleading.
According to the statement, both the Local Government Youth Leader and all Ward Youth Leaders are not part of any group or movement opposing Hon. Babalola’s political ambition.
The youth leadership reaffirmed its commitment to unity, discipline, and the continued progress of the PDP within Egbeda Local Government. It emphasized the importance of constructive engagement and proper consultation in addressing issues affecting the party and its stakeholders.
The statement further urged the general public and party faithful to disregard any publication linking the youth leadership to opposition against Hon. Babalola, stressing that such claims do not reflect their position.
Comrade Oderinlo noted that the youth leaders have confidence in the credibility of party leadership and expressed optimism that the party would present a formidable candidate when the time comes.
He added that the youth wing remains focused on strengthening the PDP at the grassroots level while supporting credible leadership for the overall development of Egbeda Local Government and beyond.
