The GSM Advocates group has lauded Governor Seyi Makinde’s administration for its achievements, particularly in education, infrastructure, and governance.


Speaking at the group’s media conference, attendees praised Makinde’s efforts to improve the lives of Oyo State residents.

 



 

 


The event, hosted by Hon (Engr) Asiwaju Akeem Olatunji FNSE, brought together dignitaries from across the state, including commissioners, lawmakers, and local government officials

Politics of Oyo state is at top gear as dignitaries from the power corridor of Oyo State like Oyo Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftancy Matters, Honourable Ademola Ojo, Honourable Hon Akintunde AKT, Hon Akinwole Akinwake Wolekanle, Rev Idowu Ogedengbe, CPS, to the Governor, Dr Sulaiman Olanrewaju, Hon Moronkola Thomas, Hon Sikiru Sanda Lajue, Hon Seun Olufade Onala, Hon Taofeek Akinwale, Hon Adeyemo Adedeji Ola attended The GSM Advocate Media Conference in which indefatigable Hon (Engr) Asiwaju Akeem Olatunji FNSE was the host.

As a way of encouraging participants spread across the zones of Oyo State, including Ibadan, Ibadan less city, Ibadan main city, Oke Ogun zones 1 and 2, Oyo town, Ogbomoso, and Ibarapa zones, the event was convened professionally.

Keynote speaker Dr. Moronkola Thomas highlighted the group’s role in promoting good governance and supporting Makinde’s administration.

Dr. Moronkola Thomas explained the roles of GSM Advocates since 2018, most especially on decimating Ajimobi’s rulership and dynasty which the majority of people thought would be a difficult task.

He eulogized the team for their immense roles in bridging the gap between the past and present to the grassroots. He emphasized that the 2027 election would be a testament to Makinde’s impact on the state.

Dr Thomas emphasized that Governance and Politics have been greatly improved under GSM Administration since 1999, looking at his experience with other governments as a former Commissioner.

He added that the 2018/19 Election cycle will be less difficult compared to the upcoming 2026/27 election cycle as the opposition is getting farther away from the Agodi Secretariat with the good governance of Engr Seyi Makinde.

He discussed strategies which included voter registration and canvassing which must be supported by all appointees of the government from the state down to the ward level.

Do not heat the polity, was his last advice for all members of GSM Advocate who have been advised to work closely with any candidates that Governor Seyi Makinde nominates to be his worthy successor.

Including an affirmative statement that “Seyi Makinde is our party”.

Dr Sulaiman Olanrewaju talked briefly on the content of messaging and Media engagement taking it up from Coca-Cola’s “refreshing the world” statement which speaks to facts.


He analyzed the ethics, pathos, and logos of media engagement and spoke about Logic, Data, and Science as core values that governor Seyi Makinde’s decisions about his governance.

He emphasized the status of all civil servants who are careful and wary of who will succeed the Governor.

Dr Sulaiman read out the achievements of Governor Seyi Makinde on Education” Out of School Children in a way to save their future, Construction of Circular Road with kindness to the affected land owners, LAUTECH’s Autonomous Ownership after the downcasting by the Ajimobi administration.

Oyo ALGON Chairman, Hon Sikiru Sanda Lajue, urged the GSM Advocates to continue promoting Makinde’s achievements, pointing to his government’s efforts to improve education, healthcare, and infrastructure.

He charged the group to do more in propagating the good work of Governor Makinde.

Other speakers commended Makinde’s efforts to boost agriculture, improve healthcare, and enhance security in the state. Rev’d Idowu Ogedengbe noted that Makinde’s administration has made significant strides in revitalizing the state’s economy, creating jobs, and empowering youths.

In a form of Appreciation, the Director General of GSM Advocate, Asiwaju Akeem Olatunji FNSE appreciated Governor Seyi Makinde for all he has done for the group, he also as oliver twist requested humbly for more opportunities for professionals and entrepreneurs among the group for more welfare packages that will definitely be worthwhile for lifetime human capacity development.
