Oyo State House of Assembly aspirant for Egbeda State Constituency under the All Progressives Congress (APC), Farmer Omolara Kafilat Busari Svensson, has announced a large-scale training and empowerment programme targeting 300 youths across the constituency.

The initiative, described by political observers as both “strategic and impactful,” is coming just days after Svensson officially declared her ambition on March 24, 2026, to represent Egbeda State Constituency in the Oyo State House of Assembly.

Speaking on the empowerment drive, farmer Omolara reaffirmed her commitment to redefining quality representation, stressing that leadership must go beyond rhetoric to tangible impact.
According to her, the programme is designed to equip youths, particularly APC members with practical, income-generating skills that will foster self-reliance and economic productivity.

Under the scheme, beneficiaries will be trained across six key areas:
- Social media management and content creation (50 participants)
- Professional photography (50 participants)
- Tie and dye production (50 participants)
- Perfume making (50 participants)
- Makeup artistry and gele tying (50 participants)
- Graphic design (50 participants)
In total, 300 youths will not only undergo intensive training but will also receive empowerment support upon completion, enabling them to establish and grow their own ventures.
Omolara emphasized that the initiative aligns with her broader development blueprint for Egbeda (2027–2031), which prioritizes human capital development, youth inclusion, and economic transformation.
“Egbeda’s future lies in the productivity of its people.
We must equip our youths with relevant skills that translate into real opportunities.
This empowerment programme is just the beginning of a larger vision to build a self-sustaining and economically vibrant constituency,” she stated.
Her blueprint outlines ambitious targets, including training over 1,000 youths in vocational and technical skills within a single legislative term, strengthening small businesses, and expanding access to economic opportunities.
Beyond youth empowerment, Svensson’s agenda also covers critical sectors such as education, healthcare, women’s inclusion, agricultural development, and infrastructure, with a strong emphasis on accountability and measurable outcomes.
Party stakeholders in Egbeda have commended the initiative, noting that it reflects proactive leadership and a clear understanding of grassroots needs.
Further details regarding the training schedule and selection process, Farmer Omolara disclosed, will be communicated through the APC leadership structure in Egbeda Local Government and across all wards.
As political activities gradually intensify ahead of 2027, this early intervention may well position Svensson as a strong contender, while simultaneously addressing unemployment and economic challenges facing youths in the constituency.
