As Muslims across Nigeria and the world celebrate Eid-el-Fitr, an aspirant for the House of Representatives seat representing Ibadan North West/Ibadan South West Federal Constituency on the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Mayegun Sunday Olusegun Babanumi, has called on residents to embrace the virtues of unity, compassion and collective progress.

Mayegun Babanumi congratulated the Muslim faithful on the successful completion of the Ramadan fast, describing the holy month as a period of spiritual renewal, sacrifice and devotion to the service of humanity.
“Eid-el-Fitr is not just a celebration; it is a reminder of the values of patience, love, generosity and selflessness that we must uphold in our daily lives,” he said.

“As we mark this important occasion, I urge our people to continue to reflect these virtues in their interactions and commitment to the growth of our constituency.”
The PDP aspirant emphasized the need for peaceful coexistence among residents of Ibadan North West and Ibadan South West, noting that sustainable development can only thrive in an atmosphere of unity and mutual respect.
“Our diversity remains our greatest strength. Regardless of religious or political differences, we must stand together in pursuit of a better future for our people.
Only through unity can we achieve the kind of development we all desire,” Babanumi stated.
He further reiterated his commitment to people-oriented representation, promising to prioritize policies and initiatives that would improve the welfare of constituents, particularly in the areas of youth empowerment, education, healthcare and economic development.
Babanumi also used the occasion to call for prayers for the nation’s leaders and for peace, stability and prosperity across Nigeria.
“I encourage everyone to use this period to pray for our leaders and our country. With faith, unity and collective effort, we can overcome our challenges and build a nation we can all be proud of,” he said.
He concluded by wishing all Muslim faithful a joyous and peaceful Eid celebration, urging them to extend love and kindness to the less privileged in line with the teachings of Islam.
“May this Eid bring happiness, renewed hope and abundant blessings to every home. Eid Mubarak,” Babanumi concluded.
