In a heartfelt message filled with vision, humility, and commitment to service, Lagelu Oyo State House of Assembly aspirant, Alhaja Chief (Mrs.) Oluwatoyin Fatimoh Oyegbori-Oluwa (née Atobatele), has formally declared her intention to represent the good people of Lagelu Constituency under the platform of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP).

In her letter of intent addressed to the PDP State Executive Committee in Oyo State, the Lagelu Local Government party leadership, esteemed delegates, and the resilient people of Lagelu, the respected community leader and philanthropist expressed her deep sense of responsibility and readiness to serve her constituency with dedication, integrity, and progressive ideas.

Alhaja Oyegbori-Oluwa noted that her aspiration is not merely a quest for political office, but a sincere commitment to serve as a bridge between Lagelu’s rich indigenous heritage and the modern legislative excellence required for sustainable development.
Drawing from over four decades of experience living in England, she explained that her exposure to advanced democratic systems, policy discussions, and governance structures has equipped her with a unique perspective on effective representation and legislative responsibility.
According to her, this global experience positions her to contribute meaningfully to policymaking and to translate legislative ideas into practical benefits for the people of Lagelu.
She also emphasized that her aspiration aligns with the inclusive governance philosophy of Oyo State Governor, Engr. Seyi Makinde, who has consistently advocated for greater participation of women in leadership and decision-making.
By stepping forward, she stated, she hopes to inspire more women and young girls across Lagelu to actively participate in governance and community development.
As a proud indigene of Lagelu, Alhaja Oyegbori-Oluwa affirmed that her deep roots within the constituency give her a strong understanding of the challenges and aspirations of the people.
She pledged to champion policies and legislative initiatives that will strengthen local economic development, improve infrastructure, and enhance social welfare across the constituency.
Outlining her legislative priorities, she promised effective and vocal representation for Lagelu during policy debates and budget deliberations, ensuring that the needs and concerns of the constituency are clearly articulated at the Oyo State House of Assembly.
She also expressed her commitment to grassroots empowerment, particularly through vocational training opportunities and micro-credit support for women and youths to boost entrepreneurship and economic independence.
Furthermore, she assured constituents that she would bring a high level of legislative professionalism, discipline, and decorum to the Assembly, drawing from her international exposure to democratic practices.
Appealing to party leaders, delegates, and constituents for their support, Alhaja Oyegbori-Oluwa urged them to choose a candidate who combines international exposure, proven community service, and unwavering loyalty to Lagelu.
She concluded by expressing optimism that together with the support of the PDP family and the people of Lagelu, a new standard of inclusive, people-centered legislative representation can be achieved.
Extending warm greetings during the sacred period of Ramadan, she prayed for peace, unity, and continued prosperity for Lagelu, Oyo State, and Nigeria as a whole.
“PDP! Power to the People!”
