In a continued demonstration of his commitment to grassroots development and the welfare of his constituents, the Honourable Member representing the great people of Lagelu State Constituency at the Oyo State House of Assembly, Hon. Olajide Akintunde (AKT), has successfully carried out the distribution of solar lights to communities within the Igbo Elerin Zone.

The distribution exercise, which covered Ward 2, Ward 6, Ward 11, Ward 12, Ward 13, and Ward 14, was carried out through the respective ward councilors and community leaders to ensure fairness, proper coordination, and effective reach to the people at the grassroots.

This initiative is part of Hon. AKT’s ongoing efforts to improve security, enhance social activities, and provide sustainable energy solutions to communities within the constituency.

The solar lights are expected to illuminate streets, public spaces, and community areas, thereby improving night-time visibility, strengthening security, and supporting small-scale economic activities within the benefiting communities.

During the distribution exercise, Leader Jide Adeniran commended Hon. AKT for his continuous commitment to the progress and development of the constituency.

In his remarks, he encouraged community leaders and beneficiaries to ensure that the solar lights are properly installed and protected for the benefit of all residents.

Leader Adeniran emphasized that the project reflects the people-oriented leadership style of Hon. AKT, noting that such initiatives demonstrate genuine dedication to improving the living conditions of the people.

He also urged the communities to continue supporting good leadership that prioritizes development and collective progress.

To ensure transparency, accountability, and proper maintenance of the distributed solar lights, a monitoring committee was constituted from within the benefiting wards.

The committee is tasked with overseeing the proper installation, usage, and monitoring of the solar lights across the communities.

Members of the monitoring committee include:
• The Party Secretary
• The Legislative Aide
• The Deputy leader of the House
• The Chairman of Ward 6

The committee will work closely with ward councilors, party leaders, and community representatives to ensure that the project achieves its intended purpose and continues to serve the people effectively.

Residents across the Igbo Elerin Zone have expressed appreciation to Hon. AKT for yet another impactful initiative aimed at improving community life.

The solar light distribution further reinforces his reputation as a responsive and grassroots-oriented leader who remains dedicated to the welfare and development of his constituency.

Through initiatives like this, Hon. AKT continues to light up communities and strengthen the bond between leadership and the people, ensuring that development reaches every corner of Lagelu State Constituency.
