In a remarkable display of compassion and community solidarity, Hon. Michael Olusegun Aremu (M.O.A), the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) aspirant for Ibadan North Constituency II in the Oyo State House of Assembly, extended Ramadan foodstuffs to Muslim faithfuls across the six wards of the constituency, covering Wards 7 to 12.
The philanthropic initiative, aimed at supporting residents during the holy month of Ramadan, saw Hon. M.O.A personally distributing essential food items, including rice and other staples, to fasting families.
The exercise took place across multiple distribution points in the constituency, attracting a large turnout of beneficiaries who expressed gratitude for the timely intervention.
Hailing from Ward 9, Hon. M.O.A, who contested for the same legislative seat in 2023 and came third, emphasized that Ramadan is a period of sacrifice, charity, and community unity.
He noted that sharing resources with those in need during the fasting period reinforces the spirit of compassion that lies at the heart of the holy month.
Speaking during the distribution, Hon. M.O.A said, “Ramadan teaches us to care for our brothers and sisters, to practice generosity, and to strengthen the bonds that unite our community.
It is my duty as a son of Ibadan North to contribute to the wellbeing of our people, especially during this sacred period.”
He also encouraged Muslim faithful to continue praying for peace, progress, and unity in Oyo State, while commending the leadership of Oluwaseun Olufade, the Executive Chairman of Ibadan North Local Government, for his commitment to grassroots development and people-oriented governance.
