






Egbeda/Ona Ara Federal Constituency All Progressives Congress (APC) House of Representatives hopeful, Hon. Akinyemi Akinpelu, has penned a heartfelt remembrance tribute in honour of his late father, Elder Joseph Olujide Akinpelu, marking 19 years since his passing.
In a moving reflection released to commemorate the solemn anniversary, Hon. Akinpelu described his late father as a man of remarkable character, unwavering integrity, and deep commitment to humanity, whose legacy continues to inspire many years after his departure.

Elder Joseph Olujide Akinpelu was widely respected for his active participation and dedication to progressive politics during his lifetime.
He served as a strong chieftain of the Alliance for Democracy (AD) and also held the position of Financial Secretary in the Social Democratic Party (SDP), where he played vital roles in strengthening party structures and promoting democratic ideals.





According to Hon. Akinpelu, his father was known for rendering unalloyed service in every responsibility entrusted to him.
His dedication, humility, and sincerity earned him the admiration and respect of party faithfuls across political divides.
“My father was loved genuinely by people across political parties because he believed in unity, fairness, and service to humanity,” he said.
Beyond politics, Elder Akinpelu was remembered as a devoted family man who demonstrated exemplary leadership within his home.
Hon. Akinyemi Akinpelu described him as a caring father to his children and grandchildren, a supportive husband to his wife, and a guiding light to many within and beyond his community.
He noted that his father embodied godliness, trustworthiness, and compassion, qualities that endeared him to many and left an indelible mark on all who came in contact with him.
Reflecting on the enduring lessons he inherited, Hon. Akinpelu said his father’s life continues to shape his personal values and approach to leadership.
“I learnt many positive lessons from my father.
He was a friend to all and an enemy to none. He lived a life worthy of emulation, a life that future generations can learn from.
I remain proud to call him my father,” he stated.
He also commended his father’s spirit of generosity and philanthropy, noting that the legacy of giving and supporting others has continued to guide his own actions and interactions with people.
“As a man who believed strongly in helping others, his acts of kindness and generosity were remarkable.
These are virtues I have consciously imbibed and continue to reflect in my daily life,” he added.
Hon. Akinpelu concluded his tribute with prayers for the continued peaceful repose of his father’s soul.
“On this 19th remembrance anniversary, I pray that the soul of my beloved father, Elder Joseph Olujide Akinpelu, continues to rest in perfect peace,” he said.
